25.01.2022 Grading practice day 2020. Our only chance in 2020, well done to all that came down, I know what to look for and work on before our first 2021 grading! We do ha...ve 2 new yellow belts though so congratulations to Xavier and Neil I want to thank all our students who worked through covid, came to some classes, helped with our park classes, etc. And a special thanks in no order for helping out in 2020, Craig and Leilani, Macca, Cody and Luke, Kayla, Emma & Ruby!! Also thanks Sensei Dan for coming down and being part of our practice grading and assisting me with some fine details to work on in 2021. One thing he did mention to me was how good you all look to be progressing, especially for the fact that we effectively didn’t have karate all year See you all tmrw and Thursday for our last classes for 2020 See more

16.01.2022 Guess what..... We're back!!!!!!

15.01.2022 Hi all Fangshi students and friends of Fangshi Karate, Sorry I haven't updated the pages much!! 2020 has been a bit of a Twilight Zone episode for all of us if... old enough to remember the TV series.. I hope you're all well in health, work, family and coping as best you can. I miss the chats, training, seeing you all improve your martial arts and the laughs we have. I guess no one knows when things will get back to normal but let's hope soon rather than later. As well as all students I especially want to say hi to the kids and junior students as I miss your stories, how you don't like chores at home, that school was boring today, your part time jobs, your weekends and holiday stories. But I especially like when you learn the next kata, kick higher, grasp a new technique or take down someone bigger.... Anyway that's it for me tonight, take care look after your family and friends, laugh & enjoy your days as much as you can.... Anytime you want to say hi, just do it. If you're practicing something and have a question just ask. With your Karate even if you do little. Practice your kata's as it has it all and from there on return to training you will get back to where you were quickly. Have a great weekend everyone :) See more

15.01.2022 Great to see some of our students back last night, it’s been a while Looking forward to seeing more of you tomorrow afternoon/ night

06.01.2022 "KARATE DOESN'T WORK IN THE RING!" Tell that to the greatest karate fighter of all time. Andy Hug is a 3 time world champion and a 5th degree black belt in Kyo...kushin Karate. During his time, Hug was one of the greatest Kyokushin competitors of his era. When he transitioned to elite kickboxing from elite karate, he did better than all of his peers. As a SMALLER heavyweight, he defeated some of the greatest of all time and came very close to winning the most prestigious tournament multiple times. This is a tribute to his greatness, in particular to how he passed away so young. It's a reminder that we don't always have tomorrow so that we should always treasure the present... Breakdown of his axe kick and the "Hug Tornado" happens after the tribute.
