21.01.2022 Boys birthday cake ideas. My big brother had a significant birthday last weekend and I made a cake to celebrate the occasion. My cake decorating is usually all about flowers which I love making. But that's not really a boy thing - especially not for my brother whose interests are more about all things mechanical - cars, bikes.. ride on mowers. I thought about early days, and what he loved doing was making binllycarts. He built them out of wood from Dad's shed and managed to f...ind wheels taken from old prams. So I made a sugar paste billycart - well actually pastillage. He wanted an orange flavoured cake and given Jaffas were a childhood favourite lolly, I replicated those flavours by finishing the cake in dark chocolate ganache and chocolate logs. Oh and it's autumn so I had to add some leaves and chocolate soil just to finish it off. He loved it! See more
