18.01.2022 HASTINGS AND MOLE CREEK CAVE CLOSURES The Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service has been closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic. Regrettably, we have made the ...difficult decision to close the Hastings caves and thermal pools and the Mole Creek caves until further notice. Despite every effort to keep these visitor attractions open, it is not possible to meet the appropriate social distancing and hygiene recommendations in confined cave and thermal pool environments. The use of some disinfectants is potentially harmful to sensitive cave environments and as such an increase in that regime is not possible. In the interests of the health of our staff, volunteers and visitors, we advise that the Hastings and Mole Creek Caves sites and all associated facilities will close as of 6pm on Friday 20 March 2020. We encourage all our followers to visit the PWS website to keep up-to-date with the latest information: www.parks.tas.gov.au Alerts on closures or changes at our parks are posted to the alerts page on our website: https://parks.tas.gov.au/explore-/know-before-you-go/alerts
