05.01.2022 RUOK? Due to the very nature of veterinary work, staff are exposed to psychologically traumatic events on a regular and cumulative basis. The toll of this stres...s is evident in the alarmingly high suicide rate within the veterinary industry. Yesterday, Ballarat Veterinary Practice and Ballarat Equine Clinic participated in a full-day of training in Psychological First Aid, the mental and emotional equivalent of medical first aid. This workshop was facilitated by Terri Carlton, who is a psychologist from Barrington Centre. Barrington Centre has taken a special interest in working with the Australian Veterinary Association to help promote positive mental wellbeing within the veterinary industry. We invited other vet clinics in Ballarat and surrounding areas to attend the training with us. 16 staff from Ballarat Veterinary Practice, Ballarat Equine Clinic, Eureka Vets, Ballarat Pet and Farm Vet, Eastwood Vets and Your Family Vet (Horsham) were in attendance. Supporting one another is crucial, learning how is essential. #RUOK

04.01.2022 ANZAC 2020 - a very different format of paying tribute and our respects this year, with majority of us in our driveways, but just as heartfelt and ever more meaningful no doubt. LEST WE FORGET.

We take this opportunity to thank all our staff for their dedication and passion towards all the patients and their owners that have walked through our door this year. We also thank everyone out there that has supported our ever growing business. So many new clients arrive due to your recommendations and it is greatly appreciated. May you all have a safe and happy day tomorrow and we look forward to looking after you again in 2020. Reminder: Office is now closed until Thursday 2nd January.
