25.01.2022 We had an awesome morning. Some friends came over to learn to make dumplings. We made the skins and a delicious pork filling. It was a really enjoyable morning. We cooked the dumplings and had a big feast.

24.01.2022 I’ve been making face masks. I’ve set up my sewing stuff in our old cafe space on our farm. I have lots of room for my sewing and craft projects. I’m currently enjoying English paper piecing.

20.01.2022 Making pork potstickers for dinner. Just making the dumpling skins at the moment. I’m channeling my Chinese heritage, even though it is only a tiny bit in my DNA.

18.01.2022 First day of school holidays today. It’s been a great day so far. We’ve been out in the garden and putting up Elly’s new greenhouse. Elly has potted a lot our seeds of veggies and herbs. We decided to make a Thai style pork salad for lunch. Elly made the salad with lettuce, spinach, capsicum, cucumber, spring onions, mint, Vietnamese mint, coriander and basil. I marinated two lean home grown pork fillets with a paste made from ginger, garlic, coriander root and fish sauce. I stir fried the meat while Elly made a dressing from fish sauce, lime juice, vinegar and sweet chilli sauce. It tasted amazing, just like summer. I’m thinking how nice it would be to be able to have time to prepare healthy lunches like this every day.

05.01.2022 Back in the kitchen again! Finally felt like cooking. It’s great to have an extra day to do it. Molly and I are making yo-yos.

05.01.2022 Exciting news at our place- Jess had her puppies last night. Here are some before and after photos. Both Jess and the father, Hunter, are German Wirehaired pointers. Not sure of sex of puppies but on first count there appears to be 8 of them.

04.01.2022 Making apricot jam this morning. I managed to rescue some from our last tree. The birds have feasted this year. We had trouble with brown spots next to the stone on our early trees. Apparently this I’d caused by really hot weather. Haven’t had fruit fly so far.
