25.01.2022 Super proud of my boy today!! Grand Final day - and after the 2 day game was reduced to a 30 overs a side one dayer...nobody thought we'd get on the paddock a few days ago!! Great effort by the grounds staff getting the pitch and outfield in playing condition Winning the toss and fielding - Beauy did a great job with the ball and in the field...restricting Springwood Suns to 82 off their 30 overs But after the break, victory seemed a distant thought...as we were quickl...y 3 for 7 off 3 overs Jack's batting has come on nicely this year, and with consistent contributions in the back end of the season - coach Jason rewarded him with the #4 position today He stayed at the crease from 2 for 2, until there were 47 runs on the board, including the highest partnership of the match - 40 runs with Beauy top scorer, Clancy But just when things were looking a little comfortable, Jack and Clancy fell in quick succession...now 5 for 52 A bit more settling with a 20 run partnership between captain Izzy and Kye. But all of a sudden, Izzy's run out with a direct hit, and 2 quick wickets saw Aaron on a hat trick for Springwood!! Now Beauy were 8 down...and 11 runs seemed a long way away With Kye set at the crease, new batsman Bryce looked composed and put on some quick runs - I was the one sweating bullets over the scorer's book Seb was happy to be last man in, padded up and not required - as we snuck over the line with 8 wickets down Awesome season for Captain Izzy and her boys, and great effort all year by Coach Jason - being there for the kids in all but a couple of the training sessions and games See more

21.01.2022 It's true...we enjoyed a bit of a 'cool change' this week, and so did the girls Pretty half hearted attempt at a storm on Tuesday only gave us 2mm - and we're not likely to see any in the coming week either Just to rub it in...it's going to get super hot over the weekend and into the middle of next week Greatful to have put another 130 round bales into the shed in the past few days

21.01.2022 Still hard to comprehend that I made that list in 2014...and was the only farmer to do so Sadly I haven't figured out how to make much happen since that day

20.01.2022 What a cool glow over the brekky bar, as the sun rises into the mist Couple of balloons to the north doing their thing too Soon heading to Jack's cricket Grand Final

19.01.2022 I think it's fair to say to 2020 has been a massive challenge for some, and even soul destroying for many Sometimes it's just not that easy to talk, think, or feel your way out of a slump I know I have found myself wallowing recently, and I'm greatly appreciative for some of your beautiful messages - checking in and looking out for me Yes, I've got my ongoing disastrous love life...and the battle is very real to keep businesses afloat But there has been more at play ...Continue reading

18.01.2022 The quest to find love can be the most exciting...frustrating...heart breaking journey - and those are just one day's emotions At the end of the day it's got to be mutual, and sadly I've been great at getting excited by girls who 'like' me...but just don't 'feel' it for me I'll bet there's plenty of you out there who know this battle only too well - in your second or third time around in mid-life I just recently came across 'Country Ever After' on Netflix. Really enjo...ying it actually, as it documents the story of Coffey Anderson's family and life experience I love his music - and this is one of the best sappy love songs I've heard in recent years I guess this song sums up how it should feel...and will make perfect sense to my girl, when she hears it I especially love the idea of wanting to be better each day - because of that special someone you're with Hope you enjoy if you haven't already heard it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBZWsIq0w24

18.01.2022 Don't forget to mask up...and stay covid safe!! This is serious - yes, even if you are at home by yourself There is no question that this UK strain is highly evolved and incredibly intelligent ... Like on Monday afternoon...when my little sis mistimed her run to the shops! As 5pm ticked over - an announcement came over the PA that all shoppers must apply their face masks immediately!! Yes - you were safe from UK covid strain at 4.59pm...but not 5.01pm Now I've just heard the breaking news that lockdown will be lifted at 12noon today Hang on a minute...quick date check The cynic in me can't help but ask the question, "Is this the BEST (or WORST ) April Fool's Joke ever Just awaiting 12.01pm April 1st for confirmation On a more sensible note - have the best Easter ever with family and friends May you enjoy celebrating the spirit and true meaning of Easter in large congregations - if that is among your beliefs May it be filled with copious amounts of handshakes and hugs...just as humans have felt compelled to give each other for millions of years Oh...and may there be Easter Eggs for the kids too

18.01.2022 Edible flowers for our girls...because they're worth it Chicory and Lucerne among the ryegrass during their day and night grazing When I shift a fence on the highway, I like to run the line as straight as an arrow - so all the passers by can marvel at my skill Of course I know no body looks It's just a me thing...I do it on the fence lines that nobody can see too ... But if you ever see a really crooked one - it probably wasn't me Any one of 4 of us shift fences on different days of the week See more

17.01.2022 Ok - I've been known to do some crazy things!! * install the first Lely Robots in Qld * create my own milk company - 4Real Milk * drive a tractor 2,000km to Cairns to create awareness for the dairy industry But this next one - I am a little apprehensive...I don't even know if I can pull it off, or if it is achievable ... It is for an awesome cause, and I feel compelled to give it my best shot!! I don't know a single family not impacted by Cancer - and being a farmer of English/Irish/Scottish decent...Skin Cancer has been an ever present threat. We are fortunate my Dad is still with us, as 15 years ago he was diagnosed and had a stage 4 melanoma removed. The 5 year survival rate was 15-20%...it was a scary time My Uncle Bevan had most of his nose removed near the end of his life due to skin cancer I myself have already had many sunspots burnt off my face and arms over the last decade. There will be a bunch of us regular Beauy golfers attempting this marathon effort - and I'll be the only 50+ walking the 4 rounds of golf haha To put it in perspective - we usually allow 4 hours for a round of 18 holes...but that would require 16 hours, and the days just aren't that long!! We are aiming for 3.5hr rounds - teeing off as close to 4am as the morning light will allow, and finishing around 6.30pm. Yes that is a total of 30min break time during the day Really hoping for some divine intervention!! Not too much cloud at the start or end of the day - but not excessively hot during the day either...wouldn't be too much to ask for would it The forecast is actually for widespread rain events in the days prior, and later in the week after our walk, and for fine and clear with a maximum of about 30C on the day - Monday 14th December Any support would be greatly appreciated https://www.longestday.org.au/fundraisers/gregiedennis/qld

12.01.2022 Hope you all had an awesome Sunday, like yours truly I got mine off to a great start - did you ladies realise you are not the only ones who get those 'fresh cut feels' Maybe it's my strong feminine side - but I do love running my fingers through my own hair after I cut it Hey let's face it...nobody else will I'm always surprised too when I have so little hair, how much I chop off!! Been trying to see life through rose coloured glasses recently too (my first pair of p...rescription sunnies) - but that's not quite working for me Why else was my Sunday so good More later See more

08.01.2022 I've said it many a time, but golf has been like therapy for me over the years. It sometimes almost gives meaning to a life of indifference and confusion One of my favourite days on the golfing calendar since I became a member in 2005 of the @beaudesertgolfclub is the 'SHOOTOUT'. There's the bragging rights just to make the cut - as during the course of the year, the 19 best qualifying scores get the opportunity to play. Because rounds from 4 different days during the week ...can qualify, it brings together a field who might not have played together...or have even met before Then on the day - imagine 19 blokes (ladies have their own Shootout too ) hitting off the 1st Tee together...with the player shooting the worst handicapped score on each hole being eliminated!! In the event of ties there's a chipoff. The first hole alone takes half an hour - it's a 7+ hour round of golf if you go the distance Well without giving you a blow by blow description...I did have a great feeling about today early - and I got out of the blocks parring the first 3 holes!! To be honest though, it only takes 1 bad hole no matter how well you're playing, and I was lucky to survive the 4th and 6th with triple bogeys, when someone had worse But despite the 38 heat I seemed to get better as the day went on! I wasn't in a chipoff until the 16th - and up against Brian Parker, last year's R/U, I probably played my shot of the day - to 3 feet...so I lived to fight another hole!! Got through the 17th after eventual 3rd placed Ross ran into tree trouble and an out of bounds, and it was just myself and the best golfer in the field left - Wayne Short playing off 1. That was to my advantage, as I had a shot on the 18th, but he didn't He knew on the tee he had to go for a birdie 4 to match my par! Wayne had played great golf all day - being 1 under off the stick!! I had played a great back 9 - 6 over, which was 2 under my handicap. And thankfully I didn't unravel under the pressure of the moment - and proceeded to play the most clinical, boring hole possible!! Most unlike me Wayne bombed a drive off the tee that stayed a little too straight - through the dogleg and into the trees past the cage next to the 8th tee. He did have a shot, but still with tree trouble ahead - dropping down and chipping his 3rd from the next tree line just through the green. He did have a 25 foot birdie putt from the fringe that lipped out I went 5 wood to the right edge of the fairway short of the first dogleg, 5 wood straight down the middle past the next dogleg, and then my most important shot of the day - a 9 iron from 124 metres...landed just short of the green, and rolled just 15 feet past the pin!! First putt stopped 18 inches short, with 3 inches of break - which is a length that sometimes messes with my head But I stepped up and confidently rolled it to the middle of the hole

06.01.2022 Pretty as a picture as I was doing the rounds shifting fences Got to love Tipuana trees in the spring - we've planted many over the years You might have noticed a mountain in the far right and far left of these respective pics - you will also find it above Tammy on our @4realmilk logo Yep...my favourite - Mt Barney

05.01.2022 Pretty start to Good Friday I'm on calf feeding and fence shifting duties...as Dad puts the first feed mix out for the morning

04.01.2022 Dusty old farm equipment...getting the job done day after day - just like weary old farmers At least early starts in the summer are much easier than the dark frosty mornings in winter - much as I'd love a cold snap right now Pinch & a Punch for the 1st of the month

04.01.2022 Do you appreciate critical thinkers? I feel it's such an important time to question actions by the governments of the world in 2020 - because we can expect more of the some in our immediate future if we don't I've noticed that many people love to throw Sweden at you, without having any comprehension of the real numbers and true science behind their outcomes. Ivor Cummins continues to do tremendous work in sharing actual data collected this year, and previous decades. While ...it will help eliminate your fear of this virus...it is largely falling on deaf ears of his government in Ireland, and other countries around the world. Love to hear your thoughts after watching his YouTube clip
