24.01.2022 Here is a look at four different peeling methods. Hmmm - they like the shake method. I mostly use the pestle/flat blade of the knife and one good thump.

23.01.2022 Spring Garlic report: Yesterday we sold freshly picked spring garlic at the Milton Markets thru: Khalil's wonderful store (nuts, honey and beautiful dried fruit). https://www.facebook.com/khalil.hamdan.39589 The Spring Garlic is very new to most people - some didn't believe it was actually garlic! Thanks to all the people who bought it - hope your cooking experience is good. Heaps of recipes on the internet. We have more of an idea for next year now. 21.01.2022 2020 Harvest about to start! As you can see the garlic leaves are browning off and we will start picking this week. It will then be air dried, in the traditional manner for at least two weeks. Just like in the beautiful 2018 picture. Ready for sale late September/early October. 18.01.2022 The hard work has been done and the harvest has begun! We are taking it slowly this year. The garlic is the beautiful purple colour. We hope to have it ready for sale by late September/ early October cured, cleaned and ready for delivery. 18.01.2022 I am glad to report that the 2020 garlic season is progressing well. An inch of rain over the last week is so welcome. The garlic is 12 weeks now and generally looking strong, healthy and green. Weeding has been easier this year mostly pigweed, cress, a purple flowered weed and mint bush. One rogue lettuce of all things! We left it there. Garlic flavored lettuce what do you think? Hope you are all getting through this rough year. The winter moon looks so clear - what a good thing. it is. .

17.01.2022 Interesting - people steal garlic, people smuggle garlic - anyone woud think it is a drug! Luckily, unlike most drugs - garlic is good for you!

17.01.2022 Hi everyone. The new garlic peeling technique that has gone viral. We have tried it on our garlic and it seems to work, once you get the technique. Hold the garlic with the base end up, use sharp end of a pointy knife, don't push all the way through the clove and manipulate it out. Does not work on all garlic but certainly loosens from skin anyway.

15.01.2022 Garlic Alert: UPDATE: www.farmhousedirect.com.au are updating their website. I hoped to be able to open tomorrow Weds 10th Oct, but it looks like it will be late next week now. Work is still continuing on the FHD website and it needs to be fully operational before we go live. So now Farmer Joes Garlic will open for 2018 sales late next week. 15.01.2022 Welcome to the 2019 season. The garlic was planted in early April. The little green sprouts are starting to show. As you can see it is getting its brown winter coat on.The mulch keeps the moisture in and the weeds down. 13.01.2022 Calling all garlic eaters everywhere. We are investigating selling some of our garlic like this. It is easy to use. Just cut up a spring garlic and put it in your soup, pie, stir fry - anything where you would put crushed garlic. What do you think? Would you use it? I rang a few stores today but they said people would not buy it when they've tried to sell it in the recent past.

04.01.2022 Welcome to the 2020 Garlic Season. Virus or no virus - this years' garlic is planted. I saw a fb post that said eating 5 cloves of raw garlic will make social distancing easy! I thought that was a bit of an insult to garlic - how could anyone stay away???
