22.01.2022 The negative effect of COVID-19 on farmers and patrons financially & socially was the driving force behind Farmers Market Online. The excellent effort already made by the Woodend Community Farmers’ Market to support the local economy, with an online farmers market running in conjunction with the physical Farmers’ Market was a success. Having an online farmers market saw farmers sell more and possibly avoid going out of business, which could leave patrons with limited options ...now and in the future. With the easing of the pandemic emergency and the public desire to attend physical farmers markets, the decision has been made to temporarily close the online market. Things can change however and will be reassessed if the need arises. We thank the producers and customers who supported this initiative, the MRSG - Macedon Ranges Sustainability Group and in particular, we thank Robert Bruhn for his tireless efforts and enthusiasm to make the online market a reality.
