23.01.2022 UPDATE Friday 20th: The bloom has been identified as Noctiluca, which can cause skin irritation if you come in contact with it. The bloom has not dissipated as ...quickly as we'd hoped, so we're leaving the signs up recommending people do not swim in water that has a high algae concentration - looks pinkish, slimy or has a scum. If the water looks clear you should be fine to swim but as always, be safe in the water. ORIGINAL Post: Officers from DELWP PortPhillip (Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning) have been inspecting the island's south coast today, and have identified the 'pink slick' as a marine algal bloom. Phillip Island Nature Parks rangers are currently installing signage right along our south coast beaches advising people not to swim until further notice, as contact can cause skin irritations. Hopefully the bloom will dissipate soon, assisted by Friday's northerly winds, but please play it safe and avoid swimming until safe. Thanks Phillip Island Helicopterss for the pic. See more
19.01.2022 The children found a nest whilst playing in the yard They noticed it had a bit of blue plastic which led to a great conversation reiterating why we should reduce our plastic use and when we do use it we need to make sure it's disposed of properly.

04.01.2022 Peter the sand sculptor has completed two works to promote the forthcoming summer sand sculpture exhibition: "Wild". Photos show the sculpture at the entry to t...he Nobbies centre of seals, and the Eastern Barred Bandicoot in the garden at the entry to the Churchill Island Visitor Centre. The sand has a high clay content which makes it 'fatty' and easy to sculpt. It is pressed into formwork first (with Peter pictured), then the forms are removed and the sculpting can begin. See more
