16.01.2022 Here are some happy bees.

04.01.2022 It has been so dry, we are feeding the girls at the moment. Hopefully the rain over the last week will start the trees flowering. Honey is scarce amongst the beekeepers I have spoken to.

02.01.2022 I had to change out the hive boxes on 2 hives because of water damage. I shook the last bees off the old boxes and burr comb in the lid and put these ramps in place so they could crawl up into the hives. Bees are so clever, up they went. The first hive was cautious with them all moving up a little at a time. Hive 2 they just started running up individually and there was a constant stream of bees returning home.

01.01.2022 We moved our hives to a new location at the farm to keep them away from everyone. As it is getting busier we decided to move them before anyone got stung. We want to keep their good reputation. At the moment people love to stop and chat while we are working the hives, so very positive vibes. They are only moving about 50 meters so we need to make them think they are in a totally new location so they don’t find their way back to the old site. You will see out efforts in the videos.
