24.01.2022 This morning staff and students recognised Remembrance Day by having conversations about the significance of the day, as being a time to reflect on the service of our current and past Australian Defence Force personnel. At 11am students stood quietly for a minute to reflect on the meaning of the day and the Year 6's followed the Remembrance Day flag flying procedure at our memorial garden.

22.01.2022 PANCAKE BREAKFAST! Today the FSS kitchen verandah was filled with more than 30 hungry children from the Morning Groups program, all eager to eat pancakes. Children who qualified had a yummy breakfast prepared and served to them by our fabulous teacher aides. Sam said I love Pancake Breakfast, it’s like a restaurant for kids and Maddie prepared a little speech for the teacher aides which was heart felt and let them hear how much they are appreciated.

20.01.2022 A MASSIVE THANK YOU to the wonderful ladies that catered for our Pizza Meal Deal day yesterday! The ladies, who are all volunteers, made over 250 delicious pizza meals for our staff and students to enjoy as an end-of-year treat. It was such a mammoth effort, and we thank you all.

20.01.2022 Capricorn Coast Landcare Group Inc and Tangaroa Blue in partnership with Council recently engaged with students from Farnborough State School as part of the Dra...in Buddies project. Students were keen to don the gloves and sort through material caught in Yeppoon sediment traps to see what rubbish is being washed into the drains and where it is coming from in order to reduce waste being washed out into the Great Barrier Reef. John Wyland from Livingstone Shire Council, Brett Tait from Tangaroa Blue, teacher Stacey and students from Farnborough State Primary School. Missing from photo - Aaron Horsey from Cleanwater Group and Sabrina Burke from Cap Coast Landcare.

09.01.2022 Another past Farnborough student has made the national headlines this week! Summa Bibby was one of our students in Preschool through to Year 7, graduating in Rick's class in 2009. She went onto St Ursula's, being awarded not only school captain but Year 12 Dux. She completed a Bachelor of Advanced Science with honours in the Paul Young Lab at UQ, and received a university medal for outstanding scholarship in 2019. ... Summa was due to start her PhD in April this year in the same Lab however, whilst back home in Yeppoon in January, she received a phone call asking her to be back in the Lab ASAP to assist with the COVID-19 vaccine development. Summa has been on the 'Team Vaccine' ever since, now making the vaccine a reality. Well done Summa! Farnborough's proud of you!

With 62 days to go until the start of Prep, parents are keen to do lots of reading and sharing of stories with their Prep child to set them up for a great first term. They were challenged to read a book a day to their child. :)
