25.01.2022 U16’s Taree Carnival Cancelled Please see below Good afternoon All,... due to the second wave of COVID 19 and the implementing of new restrictions we have decided to cancel the Stan Austin Carnival. While we are always excited to host this annual event, and welcome players from different regions in NSW and QLD to these carnivals, the decision to cancel this was not taken lightly. Player safety is paramount to us, as I am sure it is to everyone that participates, and we do not want to place anyone into a harmful situation. We apologise for any inconvenience that this may have caused, but we wanted to give everyone an opportunity to cancel any bookings and make alternative plans should they wish to do so. We would like to take this opportunity to thank each of you for your ongoing support for the carnival and hope that we can see you when the next one is scheduled. We would also like to wish you and your families best wishes for a happy, safe and healthy festive season. Best regards Yvonne Nash Secretary Manning Junior Cricket Association

24.01.2022 Another one bites the dust

24.01.2022 Dear Carnival Attendees, The latest COVID outbreak and restrictions on the Northern Beaches and Greater Sydney have through our Carnival plans in disarray. We h...ave been in contact with CricketNSW, local stakeholders and the BDJCA to determine if the carnival may go ahead. The NSW premier will be giving an update on Wednesday 23rd December and we will wait until her address before we make a final decision. We are giving the carnival every chance to proceed so we ask for your patience at this time. We understand the Lismore U12 carnival have cancelled their event, however, our association executive has decided to wait until the premiers address on Wednesday to determine our next steps. While we have a few contingency plans in place, it will all depend on what we can and can't do. We appreciate your understanding and patience at this difficult time. We love cricket and would love to continue to run the carnival but we must abide by government guidelines and recommendations to ensure the safety of all players, coaches and supporters. All primary contacts will be emailed and texted on Wednesday and we will post an update on our Facebook page. Regards, Geoff & Chen Carnival Co-ordinators

24.01.2022 John McMahon scholarship winner for 2017/18 & 2018/19 Caelan Maladay (Lennox Head) had a good day out for Randwick/Petersham 1st Grade on the weekend taking 2/2...7 from 9. He was joined in 1st grade by Jacob Wood (Casino Cavaliers) seen in the photo below patrolling Gully and Point. Other former FNCCC players playing in Sydney 1st Grade are Lachlan Barnsely (Marist Brothers) and Lachaln Ford (Marist Brothers). Jack Cooper (Marist Brothers) is playing for Gold Coast and Charles Mitchell (Casino Cavaliers) is expected to play for Gordon after the HSC. Max Bryant (Cudgen) and Tom Cooper (Marist Brothers) will once again ignite our TV screens this season as they both play for the Brisbane Heat BBL side. A reminder how important the John McMahon scholarship is in helping to launch young cricket careers. See more

23.01.2022 Congratulations to Sam, Hamish, Rory & Harry who represented the Northern Sixers at the U14 Country Challenge last month Sam Wier also played in the u16 Country Challenge. Well done boys

22.01.2022 Obviously the news over the past few days with the Covid outbreak on the Northern Beaches and the inter-State travel restrictions being imposed on the Greater S...ydney area have thrown our carnival plans into chaos. I have been monitoring the situation and discussing the updates with our local stakeholders to an get an idea on how to proceed. It is with much regret that I must announce that the carnival will be cancelled as the news and restrictions look grimmer and grimmer. The next major update from the Premier Berejiklian is due on Wednesday, but particularly given most of our teams need to confirm/change travel plans I believe it is better to make the decision now. This is not a decision that has been taken lightly. We understand the level of planning, commitment and expense it takes teams to organise to attend an event such as this, by volunteers and parents alike. The Carnival is also a major boost for our local economy in Lismore, something else we are disappointed in not providing for our local businesses. I am mostly disappointed for the players who are going to miss out on being part of a great week of cricket, but in the grand scheme of things there are more important issues at the moment. In finishing, I hope everyone gets through this next phase of the pandemic safely, and can only hope that things get better for everyone in 2021

18.01.2022 Match report on day 1 Courtesy Graeme Armstrong FNC v HV Report... FNC won the toss elected to bowl. FNC had HV 1 for 1 early after Will Barnes and Brodie McDowell combined. Max Ingram bowled a 10 over straight spell and tied up an end, and took 1 wicket, while Will Jenkins took 3 wickets from the other end. A combination of bowlers and a great piece of fielding from Kaleb Armstrong to secure a runout, cleaned up the innings which saw HV all out for 112. FNC had to bat for a tricky 6 over period leading into lunch. The openers Sam Weir and Jack Taylor did a fantastic job against quality fast bowling to go into the break none down. After the lunch break FNC lost Sam Weir first ball. Which brought Will Jenkins to the crease. Will and Jack cemented a solid partnership to position the team for the win. FNC lost a couple of wickets in closing out the innings, a quality batting display from Brodie MCDowell seen the FNC team home. To secure a 7 wicket win. Will Jenkins - 3 for 15 and 38 runs off 76 balls was the standout performer. Will Barnes - 2 for 9 quality bowling display Brodie McDowell - 26 off 29 balls faced quality batting display.

11.01.2022 NNSW Pathway Carnival 3-5 October 2020 - NCZ u18's Over the October long weekend, NCZ will compete at the u18's level against our neighbours Central North Zone in Tamworth as part of an Invitational Challenge. Two sides from each Zone will play T20 and 50 over One Day matches against each other. This is a great opportunity for the players to showcase their skills in preparation for NCZ COLTS selection later in the year. The following athletes from across the Zone have been s...elected: NCZ Green Sam McLean FNC Will Marchant Tim Martin FNC Jared Humphries Quinn Pares Jye Woodger Brady Toniello FNC Flynn Gibbs FNC Jack Horseman Lachlan Munday Tom Lucetti (wk) Hayden Cross Flynn O’Loughlin NCZ Gold Charlie Mitchell FNC Zac Ewing FNC Lachlan Dowling Sam Elder Mitch Korn (wk) Connor Cook Blake Austin Aidan Brown FNC Jake Weir FNC Harry Nemme Lachlan Brown Jack Corliss FNC Evan Lipovac The coaches for these sides are: Paul McLean - FNC and Brett Carlyle - NC. Chairman of Selectors Anthony Kershler has thanked the selection committee for their assistance and valued comments to select these two teams. Kersh is confident that both sides should perform well as they've managed to select two fairly equal teams; this should be a good test for these players to push for COLTS selection. At the same time the 3 Council's FNC, NC and MNC have selected u16's sides who will play against Hunter Valley and 2 x Northern Inland sides. They will also contest T20 and 50 over one day matches. These matches will assist in determining the selections for the NCZ Bradman Cup side.
