24.01.2022 What can you do to prevent contracting COVID-19 and slow down the spread

23.01.2022 KIMBERLEY SHIRE BORDERS TO CLOSE So there was a bit to unpack from this afternoons press conference. There was one new case reported in the Kimberley ov...ernight. Nine cases have been confirmed in Broome, Two in Kununurra and one in Halls Creek. Were waiting clarification on the newest case. From midnight tonight (Thursday April 2), travel between the Kimberleys four districts (Broome, Derby West Kimberley, Halls Creek and Wyndham East Kimberley) will be banned. Exemptions will only be granted for essential goods and services, work reasons, health and compassionate grounds. One of the newest cases is a Department of Primary Industries worker sent to Kununurra to man the WA/NT border checkpoint. The worker has now tested positive for COVID-19, his five colleagues are now all in isolation. Police are also assessing whether a number of officers across Kununurra and Wyndham will also need to go into 14 days self-isolation. As a result, extra police are now being flown into the Kimberley to reinforce the affected East Kimberley Stations, as well as help local police man the new regional border checkpoints. - People who may have crossed the border while the affected DPIRD staff were working there are being tracked down and alerted. On the exposed healthcare workers, Health Minister Roger Cook says the Halls Creek remains a key priority, due to the potential exposure to vulnerable patients. "The Halls Creek Doctor is our biggest point of concern," Mr Cook said.. "The contact tracing teams are on the ground and theyre making good progress." Two additional nursing teams are being flown into the Kimberley to provide extra support. 07.01.2022 WET AND STORMY WEEKEND AHEAD All eyes are on the low forming up over the territory today, which is set to bring plenty of wild weather to the East Kimberley i...n coming days. The Bureau has issued an initial flood watch for rivers in the North and East Kimberley, with daily rainfall totals between 50-100mm likely, and isolated falls of up to 150mm possible, over Friday and Saturday.
