13.01.2022 Here is our video of Ellyssa Suite for Brass Band by Australian composer Nathan Wiltshire. Ellyssa Suite is a major work for C Grade (3rd section) band and was ...premiered by Far Northern Brass under the baton of Nathan last month for the NSW State Online Band Festival. The Feds have a proud history of supporting local composers through our bi-annual composition competion and it has been great to work with Nathan on this project and record this video last week. Composer Notes: Ellyssa Suite was completed in 2020 and is dedicated to my two girls, Ella and Alyssa and is a four movement work for brass band depicting my view of the life of my two daughters. The first movement depicts the darker moods of two girls and their father constantly saying "what are you two up to?" The second movement shows the hectic life of two bubbly little girls causing chaos, competing against each other and in the end, working together in simple harmony. The third movement is entitled 'Ella's Theme' and is a beautiful melody for a beautiful soul backed by a gospel type rock beat. The final movement hits a happy time in their life before suddenly interrupted by sorrow, loss and tragedy. 13.01.2022 Save the date! Our performances for the Australian National Online Festival Of Bands are being streamed on Friday 2nd April from 11am on www.brassbanned.com. Excited much? Yes we are, to be involved in such a great initiative to get bands together again in these uncertain times. We are performing 8th in the Sacred item, Major Own Choice and March items and 6th in the Concert item. #ANOFOB #brassbanned
