25.01.2022 Chic Lye, former matron at Farrer sadly passed away. RIP

25.01.2022 ODAS is on again. At Farrer things stay the same but different. Year 11 are at school doing lessons. No Northern. Year 10 are on work experience. No commando or survival. Year 9 are touring Tasmania and Melbourne but fly down and back form Newcastle. Year 8 and 7 are the same. Chaffey Camp was moved to school this year for year 7 due to smoke fires and lack of water!!!. Thanks to all the staff for all their efforts in ODAS. Great way to finish the year but very tiring. Hope you get rain soon. Chop

12.01.2022 Get behind Marty and Doug

08.01.2022 Farrer school year has begun with Nick Cowell as our leader. Great to see some rain and hope you are getting a drenching right now. The Foundation has been a little quiet but in the background we are working on improving the constitution so it suits our needs. Thanks Terry Cowen for your work. Keen for more of you to join the Foundation. $10 per year or $110 for life. Membership funds help run the foundation so all donations can go into scholarships or targeted building projects. Message me for details. Cheers Chopper

05.01.2022 Welcome to 2020. Here's hoping for some significant rain and real soon. Our thoughts are with all those impacted by the fires as well as those suffering the drought. I know many of you would be doing it tough. Ad Aspera Virtus Strength in Adversity is our motto. You may be aware I have been in conversations with our political leaders seeking some equity regarding support for drought affected families sending their children to boarding school. In the Drought Relief Package ann...ounced late last year there was $10 million set aside to support drought affected families with their boarding fees BUT ONLY IF YOU WENT TO A PRIVATE SCHOOL. We met with Mr Joyce who recognised the issue but passed the problem on to the State government. Mr Marshall and Mr Anderson are yet to come up with any solutions. I will continue to fight for equal treatment. One of the Farrer Foundations goals is to support students to get to Farrer and to stay there in these difficult times. Thanks to all those who have joined as members of the Foundation. It cost $10 per year or $110 for life membership. Contact me for details if you want to be involved. This year will be better than the last we hope. Cheers Chopper See more
