16.01.2022 As more and more devices become 'smart' with connections to the internet, it is ever necessary to remain cognizant of just how exposed we are all becoming to #cyberrisks. While this example may be trivial, it's unlikely your ransom would exceed the cost of the machine, it is increasingly important to remain vigilant when it comes to your total #cyber attack surface area in minimising this #cost It's about time we took cyber security more seriously!... 13.01.2022 Only two days until the world will #SwitchOff for #EarthHour. Are you in? We are, and think you should join us in turning electricity off to make the #SwitchforNature. Every effort counts! #sustainability #climatechange #savetheplanet
09.01.2022 There are several terms that describe ambitious climate action targets such as ‘carbon-neutral’, ‘net-zero’ and ‘climate-neutral’, but do you know what they actually mean? Climate neutrality, for example, is achieved when organisational activities result in no effect on the climate system, taking into account regional or local bio-geophysical effects, whereas a carbon-neutral target relates to carbon dioxide only. It's important to know how these terms are defined what they ...mean in terms of how foals are to be achieved. 09.01.2022 "On September 12, is a massive 6.5TB cache of log files that was left for anyone to access without any password, potentially allowing #cybercriminals to leverage the #information for carrying out extortion and phishing scams." With growing #cloud presence, comes a growing cloud #exposure and cyber attack surface area. The biggest factor in addressing such threats comes down to visibility:... Do you know what you have online? Do you know what you really need to have there? and; Do you have protections in place for when your data is accessed by malicious actors? 07.01.2022 The Internet, cloud services, all the data and devices we use produce twice as much pollution as all the planes around the world. Research suggests that if the exponential growth of the ICT sector goes unchecked, by 2040, the carbon footprint will reach as high as 14% of the total worldwide footprint. This is unacceptable as it may seriously undermine any efforts to curb climate change. Data consumption has the same effect on the environment as the consumption of any plasti...c or oil-based products! Why? A vast amount of energy is used to power the ICT infrastructure so that the exponential growth of data can be facilitated. Another study shows that as the adoption of the Internet and technologies such as 5G and IoT increases, it will cause severe environmental and economic concerns. As we generate, consume and hoard more and more data, we also generate exceedingly more pollution. And so the same way we recycle plastic to reduce the carbon footprint, we also need to recycle the digital garbage, digital assets and data. Soon, we will be releasing a White Paper where we discuss this problem and our solution in more detail! 07.01.2022 With just over half the world online, the internet and cloud services are starting to mature with data starting to become a major P & L item. Throughout the 2010s, cloud providers were keen to offer enticing deals with generous (and sometimes unlimited) storage. "Google is shutting down one of the most popular features across its product universe: Google said that Photos hosts more than 4 trillion pictures and videos, with users uploading 28 billion every week." At Fasade, w...e believe that data will continue to become expensive as the infrastructure cannot and will not be able to handle the unimaginable growth of data as we adopt the new technologies such as 5/6G and IoT and as we enter the new era of the digital world. http://ow.ly/scSb50CA5C3

05.01.2022 How long does it take you or your team to find the right file or information? Usually, it takes us more time than we expect, and it happens because most of the data that we keep is Dark Data. "Dark data" or so-called Unfulfilled Value are all the digital assets that we, over time, collect, process and store on our systems, but generally fail to recycle or use for other purposes. But how much of our data is the unknown, untapped and unused data? Recent studies have shown ...that 55% to 85% of data collected by organisations is Dark Data. Learn more about "Dark Data" and how to deal with it in our White Paper! Be the first to get access to the White Paper and perhaps something more!
