25.01.2022 We all get caught up in our busy-ness! and often wear a Im so busy as a badge of honour. Self care is not selfish, we need to stop and listen to what our bodies are trying to tell us. When did you last stop and asked someone if they were ok? Genuinely stopped and listened wholeheartedly? ... It has been a very challenging year for everybody. I think we need to stop and learn some very valuable lessons. Is what I am worrying about really that important? What are my true values and priorities in life? Check on your strong friends peeps.

23.01.2022 It’s that time of the year! Are you prepared? The scary thing is that It may not be a 2 prong fang mark it could just feel like a scratch! If you experience any symptoms please seek medical help. Symptoms can include........ Headache Abdominal pain Nausea / Vomiting Blurred Vision Slurred speech Sore of weak muscles Bleeding or discoloration at the bite site FIRST AID MANAGEMENT - Call 000 - Lie the casualty down - Apply a Pressure Immobilisation bandage if there is one available - Immobilise the bandaged limb with a split - Keep your casualty as calm as possible and monitor their vital signs. DO NOT!! - Do not cut out the snake venom - Do not wash or clean the bite site - Do not use a tourniquet - Do not try and catch the snake Remember stay still, the venom cannot travel if the casualty does not move.

22.01.2022 It’s hard to say no! Short word, difficult to say! Especially when you have a hard time with letting people down. Time is a precious asset, every time you are saying ‘yes’ to do something you are saying ‘no’ to the other things you would rather be doing instead. A valuable lesson I am learning and continuing to learn on a daily basis. If your head is saying no and your mouth is wanting to say yes say instead ‘give me a moment I’ll have to just check my diary and I’ll get back to you’. It gives you time to regroup, process and deliver your no with style and grace!

20.01.2022 Sorry but a good deal in the training industry should be analysed and then checked again! All training is not created equal. I get so may phone calls from students that have been ripped off and have to do their training again.....who's got the time or money for that! There are a few training companies that are being less than honest. ... Make sure you ask "Is this certificate nationally recognised?" "Is this certificate issued by a registered training authority?" -Be especially cautious if you need HLTAID004 - First Aid in a Childcare Setting. Yes asthma and anaphylaxis is covered in a 003 course but it is not stated on your certificate and it is not childcare compliant. Ask "Is this course childcare industry compliant, will I receive a certificate with course code HLTAID004" For those of you have trained with me know I am an honest trainer and transparent business owner. You might be saving $10 BUT CHECK! Are you getting a nationally accredited certificate and for the units you require. I have NOT put up my rates in the last 5 years and I guarantee quality and accredited training and certificates. If you are not sure send me an email, text or call and I will make sure you get looked after.

10.01.2022 Every 9 Minutes someone in Australia has a heart attack. In terms of numbers, thats about 54,000 Australians suffering a heart attack EVERY single year! Heart Disease kills 4 times more women than Breast Cancer! ... Would you recognise the signs? People having a heart attack tend to wait on average a staggering 3 hours to call 000! Symptoms are vast and varied. for: pain in chest or pain from chest to the back, heaviness/crushing sensation in the chest, arm and/or shoulder pain/weakness, jaw and neck pain, a squeezing or choking sensation, nausea/feeling sick in the stomach, fainting, sweating, similar sensations to heartburn, difficulty breathing. Anything that is out of the ordinary that lasts more than 10 minutes could be a sign. Dont be fooled by age! Its not just older people having heart attacks, its young people too. Would you know what to do next? 1. Get them to stop what they are doing. 2. Sit them down 3. Ask them if they have a heart condition 4. Call 000, ask someone to wave the ambulance in, find your closest defibrillator. Get as much help as you can. 5. Monitor and reassure them while you are waiting for help to arrive. 6. Ask them questions to find out if they have any other medical issues. 7. Prepare for CPR Dont brush it off as indigestion!! - make sure to call 000 early. Got you thinking? MEALS: Eating intelligently, encompassing a wholistic approach to good nutrition MEASUREMENT: Thats the everything! MENTAL HEALTH: keeping your mental well-being as fit as your physical well-being. Try to manage those risk factors such as stress, anger and depression.
