25.01.2022 The BIG UNIT Here is one for our overseas followers, many of whom are just starting their day now. One of my local buddies came over and checked out my line of kickers this afternoon.... He approved. Even if he had not, I would have just left it at that anyway. He is a very big boy and I was not at all intetested in crossing swords with him in any way at all!! What a handsom fellow eh? We are good mates and we both like to JUMP. Send it skippy!

25.01.2022 A pre-Easter shout out to fellow TFB instructor and TOTAL dirt shredder Luke Smith. Luke was instrumental in a suspension setting upgrade on my Giant Reign recently and we got it handling really nicely. On top of that, it is also allowing me to very comfortable go BIGGER with my flight time.... At TFB, we are a solid team, who work together to not only improve the skills, set-up and all round stoke of our clients; but EACH OTHER too. Our recent instructor 'get away' to Thredbo was a great chance to unwind and also a great opportunity to ride together, swap ideas, try new things and become even more effective instructors for our many clients. Thanks Luke!! This thing was settling like a butterfly off some of my biggest launches this morning!! Rog at TFB

25.01.2022 Avoid the 'tricycle' mentality - that is, you are part of the frame/rear of the bike and the front end is something 'out there' in front of you, that you push one way or the other to turn. This is why we should avoid getting our kids tricycles as their first set of wheels. PADDLE BIKES are a much better option. They teach junior the RIGHT way from the very start. ... Have a look at this photo, which shows a much better approach and this is my description of this shot, as well as how I see bike riding generally; WE are part of & a natural extension of the FRONT END. Our head, upper torso and arms are part of all the bits that pivot around the line of the frame, through the head tube. Everything BACK from that head tube, can flap around like a wet fish if it has to, as long as the FRONT END is either PLANTED or headed where I want it to go. My lower torso, hips and legs comply with or help steer that flapping fish... NB - some obvious exceptions to this - eg throwing a manual or boosting out of a turn (a virtual manual anyway). Rog for TFB

25.01.2022 After another superb day at the ASHPALT track on our road motos yesterday, with the legendary MVTC crew; we were finally able to reciprocate the hospitality this morning! These SUPER SHREDDERS of the moto road race world (and MVTC crew) joined us early for some gravity-fed bike VELOCITY, our lovely new climbing trail and the mad views that go with that. The raw passion for bikes, adreniline, velocity, Gs, getting sideways and the great ourdoors runs freely in all our veins an...d MTBers, sports moto riders and pretty much ANYONE with a love of two wheels (one behind the other), collectively share the sort of STOKE that only bikes seem to be able to deliver. Great to catch up on dirt guys and we can speak for ALL MTBers up here in the north east - you are welcome any time :) Indi, Rog and the entire TFB crew.

25.01.2022 Wednesday skills tip: Luke opened up a corner with a bit of riding on the grass for a nicer line for the sharp rock section afterwards. Therefore he can rollover the rock garden in a straighter line which is more ideal than still leaning in it. with @happy_little_singletrack_

24.01.2022 Some action photos from last Sundays complimentary girls skills coaching session. I have been coaching 13 years now and I never worked with a under 18 - girls only group before. Exciting times ahead! Indi @ Nail Can Hill Reserve

22.01.2022 16 girls joined us for the first of the three parts complementary MTB skills coaching today! Goeles and my love project; to get more girls into MTB riding finally materialized with todays session. Next week we are re-grouping for a social ride and hopefully after 6 weeks of skills and mingling, the girls will become so confident in each others company (and some of them with the sport) that will keep riding together afterwards. Thank you for TFBs two new instructors, Gary and Tom for volunteering their time; without them we could not run these bigger groups.

22.01.2022 Sophie and Maddy make the most of their homeschooling. Normally they are boarding in a Melbourne high school but with the current situation the girls are discovering their local Albury trails months now. Also, working with TFB on their skills .

22.01.2022 Not too many ruts at Hunchback but they are DEEP! This one the deepest one, almost wheels size, so need some momentum to stay up on the side of it . Partciularly in the mud. Otherwise you may burried forever . Rider @happy_little_singletrack_

21.01.2022 The ladies in the She Rides Starter group were shredding it this week on the Rock n Roller link trail . They improved so much during their 4 sessions . 2.5 months practice ahead of them until the She Rides Confidence course, which they all want to sign up for .

21.01.2022 Beechworth adult skills course started in sunny weather and ended up in heavy rain. We are regrouping next Thursday to make up for the lost time . Until then I gave ’homeworks’ for the participants , aka skills to work on.

21.01.2022 TFB athlete, Tom Carters first TV interview, because he qualified into the U19 DH mens national team . If you are Albury - Wodonga local, tune in 9 News at 5.30 pm tonight or check their FB afterwards to see Tom in action. We are extremely proud of his achievement!

20.01.2022 Can you go too far because you want to win the muddiest rider competition? You decide . We also had high jump, long jump and best scrub comp with the level 1 & 2 juniors today .

20.01.2022 TFB Athlete, Tom Carter qualified into the Australian U19 DH team. Except he is not be able represent in Austria , because the current Aussie government restrictions on overseas travel. This is a sweet & sour news from @mtbaust today. Hopefully next year at least two of them will make it from the TFB level 5 racer group. One more year to get stronger and even more skilled .

19.01.2022 Working on fine skills with this young talent, @olliehutchins.9 today. Ollie is in level 4 this upcoming term but he wished to do some private coaching as well. It is a feast for the eyes to watching him ride, so I was gladly dragged along for a 3 hours, high pace session .

19.01.2022 Last level 1 & 2 weekday session of 2020 . Just as well the school holidays programs starts next week!

18.01.2022 Friday hangout. "If ya riding and ever in doubt, grab the back end and hang it out!" Happy long weekend Wodonga shredders and have a good one very soon, everybody else :)

17.01.2022 Attention girls! TFB is offering free skills coaching for girls age between 11 & 16, because we want to increase female participation in MTBing. Dates are: 16/08; 30/08 & 13/09 between 10 am & noon in Albury. Can join us for one session or for all three. ... Boys and gents, if you think your sister or daughter is interested of the sport, this is the time to get her on the bike or get her more keen . For Victorians: once restrictions are eased we are planning to do similar coaching in Wodonga. There may be less sessions, because from October, TFB starts the weekday courses, and therefore have a reduced capacity. Pre rego necessary to make sure we have the right riders / coaches ratio. For rego email: [email protected]

17.01.2022 TFB weekday courses from October are 80 % booked out. Riders like James attending one hour private sessions to get a diagnostic on their skills so they can enroll one of the 3 junior levels open for everyone. Just for the record, TFB runs 5 different levels in the junior program. Riders can get into level 4 only after showing good progression in level 3. The highest level, level 5 is invitation only. Reserved for youngsters who has the potential to podium at state and national GE or DH races.

16.01.2022 The Ollie Zwar high line. Found by a pro DH racer, used by local riders. @oliverzwar , the line lives on , even while you are in Sweden. rider: @haz_harrington

16.01.2022 HELP!! MISSING BOXER DOGS !! Trixie & Star are possibly rampaging around in the area of the Hunchback trails. Any info, please contact us or add a comment. Henry (owner) will be very grateful. Help find these lovely pupos!!

16.01.2022 MTBing is a legit school subject at Felltimber Secondary College . I don't know how, we seems to find features to jump even in a park . If you based in AW and would like to see MTBing as a sport activity in your school, please PM us. We will help you to apply for grants, so TFB can come to your school .

15.01.2022 A sucess story of almost unparalleled proportions this one. That is not an opinion either. Just a straight up FACT (metrics based). Extrodinary to think that there are still those out there in our community who would dearly love to dismantle what has occured here. But that can be discussed at another time and another place.... In the meantime, give yourselves a MASSIVE pat on the back Wodonga! This is something that we should all be rightfully proud of. Let's go 1500 a week soon!!!

14.01.2022 With my boundless positivity, I always try to create good out of bad things. TFB is more quiet as usual because the pandamic, so we used this time to create our love project. Get more U18 girls involved in MTB riding. TFB offered free skills coaching with social rides between sessions, and yesterday was our second social rides. Was a smaller group due to Fathers day but none the less, girls and Mums enjoyed the riding in the beautiful spring weather.

14.01.2022 New DH bike day for Indi . Manage to track down this frame, same like my first DH bike from 1995 . New project to build it up with similar components I had. I want the upcoming gravity generation to experience the past, understand the roots of our amazing sport . Also, if any of my juniors start to whinge about their bikes, just lend them this for 10 minutes . Bike probably will be named ’The Appreciator’ .

14.01.2022 The head designer and builder behind the Rock n Roller trail project, Leigh Hollands showed us some of the new features . There is a link trail at halfway of the climb with sweet descending corners . We can not thank enough @terraintrailconstruction and @wodongacouncil for their forward thinking vision and commitment to get it done .

14.01.2022 Around this time 4 years ago, I was at the Rio Olympic to watch 8 x BMX & MTB World Champion, Caroline Buchanan compete. 2008 was the debut of the bmx cross at the Beijing Olympic. Caro would qualified but missed out because she was under the age by 2 months. We took a day off, Caro from school, me from work to watch the bmx cross final live in the Buchanans home. I could not go to London 2012. Caro qualified fastest and due to a mechanical mishap finished 5th.... Rio 2016. It is nerve wrecking to watch someone close to you compete in such a unpredictable race format. Unfortunately, things did not go in her way due to a crash and a stupid UCI rules and afrer qualifying second fastest Caro did not make the final. I cried all the way back to the accommodation on our transport bus. The night of the final we try to entertain her until 4 am, when she was tired enough to go to sleep. Caro handled the situation as how she is: a true champion. Well, this story brings us to Tokyo. Caro had almost 2 years off racing due to a vehicle accident with ongoing complication. I went to watch Caro at her first and only world cup this year due to the pandamic. Her skills were up to current level . Since then she got even stronger, now need races for her to be able to qualify to the Tokyo Olympic. Likely only few opportunities left but Caro was always good performing under pressure. Lets flatten curves, reduce second waves so all of us can go back to close to normal! Us can work as normal and athletes, like Caroline Buchanan can race for their dreams . With @cbuchanan68

13.01.2022 A good send on a good Friday! Getting warmed up so that I can stay with my junior DIRT DEVILS group at Falls Creek on Sunday. Looks like superb conditions for all our courses this weekend and TFB hope your Easter is panning out as a golden one.... Rog at TFB

13.01.2022 Wednesday MTB skills tip: flat corners. If you cant push your tyre against a berm, root or rut then you have a flat corner. As Indi demos it, lean your bike more than your body and plant your outside foot. You will achieve more grip and lean angle with this style of cornering. Thanks for @happy_little_singletrack_ for the video.

13.01.2022 With all this crazy weather at the moment, please remember that trails need a rest on the odd occasion. Pump tracks are a lot more sensitive to this sort of thing for sure, but even conventional trails have their days. Rest days and TRAIL WALKS are a really good thing to slip into your riding schedule anyway and you will always come back stronger and faster.

13.01.2022 Weekly MTB skills tip: separation. Being able to separate from your bike side to side is a fine but essential skill. This photo of me captures a moment of struggle. I ended up in a deeper rut and in this moment of capture I am muscling the bike out of it. Note how much I look ahead, to make sure I ride the situation out. Also I only used my rear brake. with @cyclestation @giantbikesaus ... @gesu.bikewear thank you @simondallingerphotography for the superb photo See more

12.01.2022 Last minute Fathers day present! Any amount but private coaching starts from $65. Message us for secure a gift voucher.

12.01.2022 Last weekend, the Hunchback PUMP TRACK took a HAMMERING at the hands of some riders who displayed little common sense. If you see riders causing this sort of track carnage, please point out to them that this is NOT what MTBers do. If I see it happening, I certainly will and will also point out that magic faries do NOT come in the night and repair this sort of mindless damage.... I will also point out that beyond this, the powers that be, currently INSIST on a ZERO maintainance policy at the moment (as they have for the last 3 and a half years as well...which is handy), so that makes being an idiot even less of a good idea. Its pretty simple - within 24 hours of heavy rain, do NOT even roll a single lap of the pump track and if a clear, distinct & disernable tyre mark is made by your bike after that sort if time frame; ride ELSEWHERE. Spread the word please and help police this sort of childish behavior if you would be so kind. Rog at TFB

11.01.2022 First day of the 3 days Easter MTB camp for the Mt Hotham Ski Club at Dinner Plain. After the January camp the parents requested skills coaching ‘allocated’ for them as well and this arvo their wish fulfilled. We started out on the pump track to activate their arms and legs more. Followed by sectioning a big switch back berm combo on the trail where they had to transfer the skills that they mastered on the pump track. I would not be surprised if the Dads had more fun than the kids . Rest now and repeat tomorrow . At @visitdinnerplain with @teamhotham

11.01.2022 The Boss, COUNTER STEERING over onto lean angle like a BOSS. Snapped this cracker-of-a-moment at Diner Plain yesterday. 'Counter steering' - its a thing. It makes lean angle your friend and you get there muchos quick too!... Rog at TFB

11.01.2022 Wednesday MTB skills tip: cornering with braking. I decided to bunny hop over rocks before this corner on the local trail, but it meant later braking. I used front brake more agressively than usual in straight line. Also you can hear my rear brake, to be precise the skip of the rear tyre because applying rear brake. I went back to platform pedals and it is allows me more agressive cornering. When I felt bit unsure about the traction just dabbed with my foot at the exit instead of braking and rode it out . Have a good practise if you near by the Quarz trail in Wodonga.

11.01.2022 The level 5 crew finds gap to clear on places where no one else does . @paddy.lalor @ryanlalor7_ @tom_carter211 @wilson_cranage6 @lia_lad

10.01.2022 THAT WAY you feel after going 100 % FULL GAS, for the duration of your SPRINT training. Mini Enduro this morning. Six different runs (40 - 50 seconds each, with loads of pump and jump) at MAX, with no recovery at the bottom. Just straight off the bike and push straight back to the top. Adreniline, dopamine, endorphins, sweating like a trooper and nothing left in the tank at the end.... "HAPPY SMASHED". Easily identifiable in MTBers who display the symptoms of just sitting there like a bag of spuds....grinning like a Cheshire cat.

09.01.2022 STAYING CENTRED . Important always, but especially if you are going bigger. Keeping your centre-of-mass more CENTRAL (along the longnitudinal plain), allows for RAPID weight shift, either forwards or backwards; as things start to get interesting.... It takes a fair bit of confidence to stay up in that position (which usually involves chest over the bars and mellon over the front wheel - especially if the rider is taller), but it is a MUST if you are going to start hitting bigger stuff. Being streched out, with you bum right out over the back wheel may create a sense of security (less feeling of OTB), but on jumps where flight time duration increases; that leaves the rider NOTHING, in the event of the nose dropping away and a big, lazy, over- rotation rearing its ugly head. By staying more central and also in a nice, relaxed, loose and slightly SQUATTED stance; the rider is POISED to excerpt ANY required pressure control, for pretty much ANY eventuality. TFB jumping tip - only go as big as your confidence to stay central allows. Leaps-of-faith have NO place in MTB skills development.

09.01.2022 Almost exactly 3 years ago, I was at the Cairns MTB World Championship as the coach of the U19 and elite privateer Australian DH National Team. This is the team photo with the 2017 U19 DH team. Three racers from the photo have special connection with Albury - Wodonga. Ben Zwar from Yackandandah, finished the highest from within the mens team, with a 6th place. Later on, Ben started coaching with TFB and helped many juniors in the level 3 / 4 & 5 groups to improve on their sk...ills. Ben moved to Sweden early this year and is now racing DH full time. Matt Carter from Wodonga was another stand out. I had followed his riding since he was 13 and the week after he purchased his first DH bike, I was over at his house and explaining his parents Matts great potential. At the same time, I invited Matt to the DH development camp, which started a day after the DH National Championship at the same location. Through my encouragement, Matt had entered the Champs and on his first DH race using an actual DH bike he qualified into the national team with a 5th place! So, he then started training more seriously with TFB and Matt ended up 13th at the World Championships, in the third DH race of his life. Amazing! Matt moved to QLD since then but his younger brother, Tom traines with TFB and qualified into the U19 DH team this year. The third racer from the photo, Baxter Maiwald has become a full - time trail builder since then. Baxter was one of the builders of the Biralee pump track in Wodonga.

09.01.2022 Display of speed during a school holiday program. TFB still has some spots next week at both (Albury & Wodonga) locations. For booking, please visit our website: tfb.bike/our-courses

09.01.2022 VAPOUR TRAIL I was laying down some SCRUBS this morning, on this very fast, 6 meter jump; that is part of a jump line. At speed, an over jump is a very real possibility on this one. This is a really good shot for showing what happens at the REAR of the bike when SCRUBBING a take off. The DUST TRAIL almost perfectly shows how the REBOUND ENERGY of the rear shock (extending under rebound control, after being compressed on the take off), is DIRECTED partially out to the side, ra...ther than straight back down into the lip. That stops the bike getting LAUNCHED higher upwards and on its way to a possible OVER JUMP. TFB can help you sort out this sort of move and others like it. Rog

08.01.2022 It was big excitement among the level 3 & 4 juniors when they learned that the 2018 Junior DH World Champion, Canyon Factory racer @kyeahern will sign and personalize posters for them . After 7 weeks of skills coaching and a time trial at the last session these are the pinners who earned TFB merchandise and the coveted signed poster: The fastest level 4 rider in Wodonga was Riley Edwards. Fastest level 3.5 rider Nate Anthony. Most Improved was Harrison Hiscox. The fastest level 4 rider in Albury was Will Dallinger. Fastest level 3.5 rider Callum Cooper. The most improved rider was Isaac Plunkett. Congratulations boys!

08.01.2022 First skills session since my torn knee ligament. Still ginger on the bike, but could not pass to try out this new bowl what we came across . I have to use platform pedals and Luke made attention that I dont use my feet and ankles enough. Back in my elite racing years it was rigid fork and platform pedal training during the winter to improve on my fine skills. Time to return to this habit! video: @happy_little_singletrack_

08.01.2022 The current cold any rainy days are good for improving balance, agility and coordination to help become an even better MTBer. Victorian gyms are closed , but as long as you have a roller at home, it is possible to practice. If you have not tried this before, please start on a non - slippery surface and perhaps close to a wall.

08.01.2022 Mission accomplished: Lia as fallen love with the DH discipline . We had an end of year, full day ride with the level 5 racer group. The Lalor boys (whom were present on the day but not on the photo), suggested DH bikes. So Lia hired a DH bike and I dusted off mine. I think the most fun Lia had , flowlessly following Riley on one of Australia’s hardest DH tracks, on a rent a bike and only 16 . So, now we are on the hunt for a DH bike for her . Honestly think, today is a... ‘star born’ . Thank you @bluedirtmountainbiking for the excellent shuttles, as always. @lia_lad , @wilson_cranage6 , @riley.mcgillivray

08.01.2022 October weekday MTB skills courses are out. Places are limited because the small group sizes.

07.01.2022 Thank you for this crew for participating in a Albury - Wodonga Tourism video! Our twin towns start to focus more on MTBing as a tourism drawcard. So, the tourism office reached out to TFB for organizing a riding crew together. Today was the Albury leg of the video making and Wodonga soon follows. We are excited to see the end result! with Bready family - @247_sends, @olliedavis.6 , @olliehutchins.9, @_sam_kane_ @, @will.dallinger, @jacobscullyy , please someone tag Harry Harrington and Gary McIvor

07.01.2022 Wednesday MTB skills tip: cornering. Widen your repertoire. Riders often use just one line for cornering, the classical enter wide - mid apex - exit wide approach. TFB instructor, Luke entered this constant radius corner wide but aimed for early apex and because the height of the berm wall and currently good traction he still maintained a good speed. Also his tyres sounded good . with @happy_little_singletrack_

06.01.2022 Especially for anyone who has had a near-death experience up the top of MIX TAPES recently......its OK gang!! Fallen tree ZERO......Roggas chain saw ONE. WwaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGHRrr

05.01.2022 Happy Fathers day for all the awesome Dads out there! Hopefully the cool one, like Mark got a MTB ride with the kid/s and / or perhaps some MTB related present. @sproulie

05.01.2022 Classical flat out - foot out cornering on a mad steep off camber section from @olliedavis.6, the U17 Aussie DH National Champ.

05.01.2022 TFB started a love project 3 weeks ago. We try to engage more U18 girls in MTBing and we offered a 3 x 2 hours free skills coaching with social rides between the sessions. Today was the second skills session and we filled 3 groups. The instructors are females as well, but we had Gary and Tom, the two new instructors of TFB are come along for help. We had plenty of jokes on the boys expanse, like: Gary! You need to lift your game, you are riding with girls now! Basically..., just enjoying the reverse roles, normally the boys are in larger numbers with only a few ladies. Hopefully with initiative like this, it will change soon. Thank you for Bec, Goele, Tom and Garry to volunteer your Sunday morning. I literally could not do it without your legendary help! Indi See more

04.01.2022 That Escalated Quickly! The girls took very seriously The Mudiest Rider competition. Despite it was specified that only on the bike mudiness counts. The things that they prepared to do for a @monumental_icecream gift voucher . #ronburgundy #anchorman #mtbkids #mtbskillscoaching #mtbcoaching #albury #indicoaching #thefastlinebikademy #mtbgirl #mtbgirls #girlswhoridebikes

04.01.2022 Stop riding Rock n Roller today please! Wodonga council contacted us, they scheduled weed spraying in the area. As we all aware, weed spray is not good for humans. Despite the warning signs at the trailheads, yesterday large number of kids were riding on Rock n Roller. The helicopter pilot had to land and asked them to ride away. Please ride on other trails today, like Quartz or inside of the fence. Let the weed spray done, so we can all enjoy Rock n Roller at the weekend. Thank you on behalf of Wodonga Council.

04.01.2022 Wilson is one of the regulars in the TFB level 4 - Mega Pinner group but he has also opted for some 1 on 1 coaching to improve on his race runs. His riding skills are excellent, so we were focusing more on mindset and racecraft. On that note, sometime I see with athletes that their head and mind holds them back and not their skills. I find the mental part of MTBing so important, so much so, that I wrote my Uni thesis on it.

04.01.2022 Separation is everything. The more we can train ourselves to be able to move around above our bike, virtually independent of it; the better our skills application will be. It is about creating harmony, between our body's movements & muscular-skeletal inputs and the natural movements of the bike beneath us.... Let it steer naturally. Let it react to the terrain naturally. Let it do what it has to (and wants) to do. Your job as the pilot, is to put it in the best spot to do all of that and to gather things back up after things have gotten a bit loose. You SEND IT where you want it to go, but don't fight what it wants (and needs) to do when (and as) it gets there. You and the front of your bike rule the roost. Everything else is just a support act - except for things like manuals and boosting out of turns. Separation is the key. Rog at TFB

03.01.2022 Some SPRING is in the air. With the days getting longer, a decent blast after work is now very much back on and some golden lighting will usually be part of that. Enjoy these marvelous spring evenings everyone.... Dont stay back and sort those extra files. They will be there tommorow. Get out for what I call "an hour of power in the golden hour" and enjoy some YOU TIME shredders!! Rog at TFB

03.01.2022 Your last chance to register for the only GE race in our region before 2020 ends. Rego closes Wednesday night, only few spots left. Hopefully see you there as a participant or a spectator. Most of the TFB Instructors are supporting this Club event .

03.01.2022 Wednesday MTB skills tip: riding rock gardens. The less you are braking in a rock garden the better your suspensions work, therefore the less you will be thrown around. Stay off the brake? Easier sad than done. Indi doing a drill here. She literally just started from the top of the rock garden and rolled in and over without touching her brakes. Once the feel is there she will start to go quicker and quicker into it but with careful planning of the braking zone still be able to stay off or just braking very little in it.

03.01.2022 Today was the second day of the 5 day summer camp for these young skieers from the Mt Hotham ski club. They took on many challenges, including a slow race on the grassy ski slopes . The achiever of the day and the winner of the slow race was the same person: EJ. He scored a TFB T-shirt and a hat for his efforts . At Dinner Plain

03.01.2022 Day 4 of the 5 day MTB summer camp with the young skiiers from @teamhotham was excellent. The young DH skiiers LOVED the Hero trail at Bright. Probably the closest thing trail features wise to a ski slope. Friday - repeat!

03.01.2022 Despite the artic weather, 8 girls (and a token brother ) joined us for a social ride today. Lucky that the Albury trails hold up nicely after so much rain. Group photo had to be taken under a shelter, away from the cold wind . Goele and me were very impressed with the girls commitment ! ... Hopefully next week will be nicer weather for our second session of the girls skills coaching. See more

02.01.2022 TFB October weekday courses are 60 % booked out. Dont miss out, because next courses from February 2021!

02.01.2022 CORE STRENTH is vital on a MTB. Keeping GOOD FORM, no matter what the bike is doing underneath you, is critical. It is your CORE STRENTH that connects your upper body, with it's bar pressing arms and chest, with your lower body and its hips and pressing legs. The better your core strength, the more coordinated those two massively important 'drivers' will be.... ANYTHING you can do to improve your core strength, can pay back big time with your riding. If you are doing OK with it, then "heavy feet, light hands" will be a big part of what you can achieve on your favorite foil. Don't prop yourself up with your bars. They are for steering inputs, not supporting your upper body. Train hard fight easy shredders. Rog at TFB

01.01.2022 Beechworth adult skills clinics on the 22nd of November. Still some spots are available in the 3 hours Starter and Confident groups. One thing for sure, this two fast riders, Sarah and Aaron will be there. They just moved from Anglesea recently and apperantly the reputation of TFB is good there as well . For overseas followers Anglesea more than 400 km from here. They were keenly participated in the first session last Sunday and rode away with plenty of new skills and ideas. For booking, please visit our website: www.tfb.bike/our-courses/

01.01.2022 At TFB, we are always looking the IMPROVE the safety of those who we help through our great sport. On the weekend, I was involved in another incident, that was just another not-so-fun moments in a life around bikes. Yep, nearly 40 years of those wonderful things has occasionally involved dealing with crash, carnage and on occasion, the worst of all :( Fortunately, on this occasion, nothing too serious; but as always, it threw up a bunch of lessons learned. Upon those, I in...tend to act on everyones behalf.... Here is my description of things from Saturday, off my own page; "Was doing some drainage work on the Hunchy pump track yesterday, when an AMBO arrived at the car park. Hmmmmmmmm. That does not look good. Fast-forward about 30 minutes and we have this photo - the young fella is fine. A great team effort, which was just as well and also much needed as it transpired. I went straight into MISSION MODE and gave the paramedics a ground brief / recon report of the battle space and in the end, I jumped into one of the vehicles and VECTORED them in on the casualty. He was not going to be super easy to find for these guys. After 3 locked gates, some gnarly fire trail and loads of climbing, we finally effected RV with the casualty; just 200 meters below the summit of R & Roller. Great work by fellow soldier and good friend Jason, who turned out to be the adult who had come across the young fella in the first instance and had stayed with him the whole time. I have been putting much thought to this sort of thing for quite some time and it was great to be in the drivers seat for this vehicle-born EVAC. When combined with the broken pelvis (in the dark) EVAC that I was right in the midst of 6 months ago; I have many lessons learned and I am going to put together a brief for all KSHs. This needs to be SORTED to a better level of coord & management and I am all about SORTING stuff. Not just pointing out problems and making sure everyone gets a little bum pat and good game in the end; no matter what the case may be." I will make sure that much good comes out of this experience and others I have had to deal with just like it. Rog for TFB

01.01.2022 The final day of the week long MTB summer camp for the young ski racers of the Mt Hotham ski club was awesome. It was hard to decide who had more fun. The dads who joined us for some shuttles with @bluedirtmountainbiking or the racers themselves. Unfortunately, we missed the Wilson family from the last group photo, as they had to leave earlier. The next camp is at Easter, and we can’t wait to see them again. @teamhotham

01.01.2022 Leon had a rapid development in his cornering technique today, due his good coordination that he bought from other sports. Leon is very disciplined, therefore he will keep improving a lot in his own time as well with all the fine skills that he mastered during his private session. With @leon.siebel
