23.01.2022 Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List (PMSOL) announced ! 17 occupations that will be able to enter Australia on a priority basis to assist in the country's COVID recovery. If you fall under any of those occupations please contact us.
21.01.2022 The Tasmanian government announced that all new and existing applications for the 190 and 491 visas would be considered according to new priorities, that take effect from today, 25 August, at 1 pm Australian Eastern Standard Time. In light of the COVID pandemic, critical and essential occupations take precedence and applicants applying under these occupations will be processed first. Applicants who are not in critical roles will only be considered only after prioritised processing concludes. The government says that no decisions will be made on applications for non-critical occupations until October or later, and only those applicants with the most compelling claims will be selected. They have specified that the expiry of your visa will not be considered as a compelling reason and will not grant your application priority.
15.01.2022 Further inbound travel exemptions announced The Department's COVID mini site has been updated today to allow additional categories of persons to be automatically exempt from travel restrictions and can enter Australia, without obtaining an individual exemption. Those exempt from requiring individual exemptions are:... -an Australian citizen -a permanent resident of Australia -an immediate family member of an Australian citizen or permanent resident* -a New Zealand citizen usually resident in Australia and their immediate family members -a diplomat accredited to Australia (holding a subclass 995 visa) -a traveller transiting Australia for 72 hours or less -airline crew maritime crew including marine pilots - anyone recruited under the Government approved Seasonal Worker Program or Pacific Labour Scheme -holder of a Business Innovation and Investment (subclass 188) visa
12.01.2022 The Hon Ministers Alan Tudge and Dan Tehan have released a joint media statement outlining the arrangements to be put in place for student visa applicants and student visa holders who have been impacted by the COVID-19 travel restrictions. The release notes five visa changes: 1) Grants of student visas in all locations lodged outside Australia will recommence, so visa holders will be ready to travel when borders reopen... 2) Free VACs for international students who lodge further student visa applications, if they were unable to complete their studies within their original visa validity due to COVID-19 3) Current student visa holders studying online outside Australia due to COVID-19 will be have that study counted towards the Australian study requirement for a post-study work visa 4) Graduates who held a student visa will be eligible to apply for a post-study work visa outside Australia, if they are unable to return due to COVID-19 Additional time will be given for applicants to provide English language results where COVID-19 has disrupted access to these services. 10.01.2022 Subclass 485 - English language testing relief: The Department of Home Affairs will be allowing additional time for Temporary Graduate 485 applicants to provide results for English language testing where COVID-19 has disrupted access to services. For Time of Application requirements to be met, COVID affected applicants must provide, at time of lodgement, evidence they have an appointment booked for a English language test, or provide evidence that thhey are unable to book a test where the centre is closed. The requirement must still be met in full, that is, applicants must provide evidence they have sat and achieved the appropriate score in an English language test in order for their Temporary Graduate Visas to be granted.
