07.01.2022 WHY CHOOSE FATBUSTERS WHEN YOU ALREADY GIVE YOUR OIL TO FARMERS FOR FEED? Used cooking oil is classified as a waste product, whilst being non-hazardous there a...re still legislative constraints in place covering its disposal and use. As a producer of cooking oil waste, a Food Business is required to ensure that waste oil is collected and disposed of in accordance with these regulations. You may be required to demonstrate that the correct local processes are being followed. Farmers used to be allowed to collect unprocessed, waste cooking oil from local restaurants, hotels and cafes to add to animal feed, however new Australian legislation introduced recently has now banned this process as its deemed to be unsafe. (Untreated oil can be a contaminant and it is also illegal to feed Ruminants products used for meat cooking). Farmers can no longer use unprocessed, used oils on their farms. There are strict rules for the quality and treatment processes of this oil which is governed by DEPI, DPI, EPA as well as many other laws that need to be adhered to at a local level. Fatbusters act in accordance and compliance with these guidelines Below is some information regarding these guidelines: http://www.epa.vic.gov.au/~/media/publications/iwrg641.pdf http://australianpork.com.au//FACT-SHEET-Swill-feeding-its http://www.animalhealthaustralia.com.au//australian-rumin/ http://www.depi.vic.gov.au//memorandum-to-renderers-and-ma .
