25.01.2022 This is the third week of our food security program. To date, we have distributed over 300x $100 grocery vouchers to young Italians with temporary visas, living in NSW and QLD, who have lost their jobs and have no income or family support. 25.01.2022 Our Charity's youth members continue to assist the less fortunate members of our community. Every Tuesday night, rain, hail or shine, Amanda, Christian and a group of young volunteers arrive at Martin Place with the food van. Last night Italian pizzas and Italian cakes and pastries were served. Thanks to Mangia e Bevi Restaurant from Rose Bay and Locantro Fine Foods from Leichhardt. 24.01.2022 A big thanks to all our volunteers who answered the phones on Easter Monday and ensured that the fundraising radiothon was a great success. 24.01.2022 As of Sunday, 14 June 2020, the Capuchin Friars at St Fiacre's Catholic Parish, Leichhardt have commenced live streaming of the 11am Italian language Mass. If you or your elderly family member are unable to attend the Sunday Italian language Mass, you can join us at 11am every Sunday by clicking www.facebook.com/stfiacreparish/live. St Fiacre's Parish also live streams daily English language Mass, Monday to Saturday at 7am, Saturday at 5.30pm and Sunday at 9:30am.

19.01.2022 The establishment, in Sydney, of the GIA Network Association (Giovani Italiani Australiani Network) by our young volunteers is great news for the Italian Australian community. These volunteers have worked tirelessly, helping to raise over $100,000 to support Italian youth living in Australia on temporary visas, who found themselves due to COVID-19, without family support, unemployed and no income. Congratulations and "buon lavoro" to the newly elected Board Members of the GIA Network Association.



19.01.2022 SOLEMN MASS IN HONOUR OF SAN PIO DI PIETRALCINA (PADRE PIO) Join us on Sunday, 20 September for the San Padre Pio Holy Mass and annual feast, commencing 9.30am (English Mass) and 11am (Italian Mass) at St Fiacre's Catholic Parish, Leichhardt, 98 Catherine St, Leichhardt, to commemorate the 52nd anniversary of the death of Padre Pio (San Pio). Pilgrims will be able to venerate the original relics of San Pio, which will be on display, courtesy of the Capuchin Friars.

19.01.2022 Week 4 of our programme "Supporting Italian Youth in Australia" on temporary visas. Thanks to the generosity of the Italian Australian community, we have to date helped over 400 young Italians with a free $100 food grocery voucher. 16.01.2022 Every Tuesday night at Martin Place Sydney, a group of young volunteers, including our Charity's youth members Amanda Iurlo and Christian Bracci, provide hot food on a cold winter night to Sydney's homeless. A heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers and to Frank Angilletta of Five Dock Dining and the Locantro family of Locantro Fine Foods for supporting this project by donating hot food and pastries.

15.01.2022 We are pleased to have been able to help the Patrician Brothers' College, Blacktown with a $4,000 grant for their student breakfast program. Congratulations to the Principal and all the teachers of the College for their commitment to identifying their students' needs and providing the service and assistance needed.

14.01.2022 We are proud of and grateful to the Italian community in Australia for their generosity in donating over $100,000 to provide 1,000x $100 grocery vouchers to young Italians in Australia on temporary visas. We commenced issuing the grocery vouchers on 27 April and we are close to exhausting the donation money received for this project. 13.01.2022 We are pleased to support Amanda Iurlo and her young volunteers who, every Tuesday night at 8pm, arrive at Martin Place from St Johns Park with a food van, to provide hundreds of homeless people hot food and drinks. Amanda's and her volunteers' weekly commitment to providing hot meals and friendship to the less fortunate members of our community makes the Italian Australian community proud.

13.01.2022 Tonight was the most humbling experience serving hot food in Martin Place with our friend Amanda Iurlo who runs a food van for the homeless. Members of our Board, Felice Montrone and Christian Bracci and other volunteers, helped the food van, which travels every Tuesday night from St Johns Park to Martin Place Sydney, to help feed the less fortunate members of our community.

12.01.2022 A national radiothon will be held on Easter Monday to raise urgently needed funds to assist the thousands of young Italians in Australia who have lost their job...s as a result of the COVID-19 crisis and are unable to access financial support from the government. Organised by the Board of the Father Atanasio Gonelli Charitable Fund, in collaboration with the Nomit - Italian Network of Melbourne and supported by media partners IL GLOBO, LA FIAMMA and Rete Italia Australia, the day-long fundraiser will help the thousands of young Italians on working holiday visas and other temporary visa-holders currently stranded in Australia.

10.01.2022 Our Charity's youth members continue their great work in providing emergency food to Sydney’s homeless. Every Tuesday night, rain, hail or shine, Amanda Iurlo, Christian Bracci and a group of young volunteers arrive at Martin Place with the food van. Last Tuesday night was a cold winter night. Frank Angilletta from Five Dock Dining stepped up to provide hot fresh vegetable ravioli soup and the Locantro family of Locantro Fine Foods continued with their generous supply of Italian cakes and pastries. A big thanks to Five Dock Dining and Locantro Fine Foods from Leichhardt.

01.01.2022 Italian language Mass is recommencing at St Fiacre's Catholic Parish, Leichhardt. Fr John Cooper OFM Cap today announced that the 11am Italian language Sunday Mass will recommence on 7 June. The current COVID-19 restrictions require that a maximum of 50 parishioners can participate in the religious service and on entering the Church, they are required to register their name and contact details and that they observe the safe social distance seating requirements.
