23.01.2022 FYI- Nepean Imaging has just informed us that they are ceasing all delivery of hard copy results to the local GPs due to the pandemic. We always get downloaded reports and images anyway, so this will not affect your standard appt at FHC. If you need the hard copy for a specialist appt, pls pick up directly from Nepean Imaging where you were tested. Thank you for your understanding.

18.01.2022 We have obviously worried a number of people with the last post (lots of calls). We would like to reiterate: the testing is a precautionary measure. We would prefer to test staff and move to a telehealth-only model for a couple of days while we wait for results, rather than possibly create a new viral hot-spot. We love our community too much to put anyone at risk. So, we are being over cautious and over careful in order to keep you safe and maintain your trust in our practice. If you have any concerns, please email [email protected] to talk to the manager (she will work very hard to respond quickly). Pathology will remain open for collection tomorrow, pls call from the front door to get our attention and be seen.

16.01.2022 FHC is going to be trying out Tele-health options for people with symptoms that we are screening for, as well as some of our more "at-risk" clients for whom we are trying to reduce exposure. We will be taking appts for these Tele-health consults in the same manner as for in-person consults. Please remember to be honest with reception when they are asking you these questions, as we are trying very hard to reduce spread of Covid 19, and to ensure FHC can stay open and remain of service to the community. (Remember, if we have an unprotected exposure, we have to shut down for 2 weeks minimum, and none of us want that.) Be smart, Be safe, Be thoughtful!

14.01.2022 We are sure most of you have seen this image by now, but here is a reference point for symptoms you may have (as you can imagine, we are getting a LOT of calls about this kind of thing). Please remember that we have disabled online appts for the moment, and you will need to call the surgery to book. If you have ANY symptoms, we need you to disclose so we can provide you with a mask and give you appropriate directions about waiting in your car or not. We would like to reassure you that we are doing our absolute best to keep people with symptoms out of the waiting room, and we are cleaning after each patient contact. 10.01.2022 FHC is very happy to pass on the info that the test results have come back negative, so there has been NO staff-based exposure in the practice to anyone. Appointments will proceed as normal tomorrow. (We had already migrated most of todays appts to telehealth.) Thank You all for your understanding and patience :)

If you feel you have been exposed/need to be tested, PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION: #1 YOU MUST DISCLOSE THIS TO STAFF AT TIME OF BOOKING !! #2 You will be given instructions on how to present to the surgery over the phone by reception- this will include calling from car park on your arrival so someone can meet you outside with a mask and gloves. You will be given further instructions at this time. We are trying to keep people who are concer...ned about covid 19 exposure out of the surgery so as to reduce exposure to patients who may be immuno-compromised and are therefore at very high risk from this virus. Please do not take our precautions personally. Please listen carefully to the staff you are dealing with and please if you genuinely believe you may be ill, keep yourself isolated until you get your results and move forward with the appropriate instructions given by your health professional from that point. 07.01.2022 FHC is moving all patient consults to telehealth for the next 48 hours (or until we get results) due to a staff member being tested for Covid 19. This is a PRECAUTIONARY step to protect the rest of the staff and all of our patients. If you have an appt in the next few days, we will call you and let you know what is happening. Statistics is on our side, and we are sure this is just a temporary inconvenience while we do an even deeper clean at the surgery this afternoon, and await the result.
