25.01.2022 Releasing a cold yellow-spotted monitor during a pre-clear survey. These goannas occur right across northern Australia, and are one of Australia’s largest lizard species. #varanuspanoptes #panoptes #argusmonitor #yellowspottedmonitor #varanid #varanus #goanna #coalseamgas #faunamanagementservices #faunamanagement #faunaspotter #faunaspottercatcher #wildlifemanagement

21.01.2022 Fauna Solutions have just secured a new contract, and to deal with the increase in workload, we are looking to employ a further two ecologists/fauna spotters. These positions entail long stints away from home. Experienced staff are highly desirable Resumes to Suzanne Bish at [email protected]

21.01.2022 Adult Freckled Monitors (Varanus tristis orientalis) often inhabit hollow bearing trees. However, young individuals often take shelter under peeling bark on small spindly acacia species. Additionally, a number of native species such as microbats species, geckos and snakes use peeling bark. This is why thorough preclear surveys are so important!

21.01.2022 Due to the exponential growth that Fauna Solutions is currently experiencing, we are looking to engage a further two ecologists/fauna spotters to compliment our growing team. Applicants should have a strong herpetological background, flexible schedules and industry experience. Attractive remuneration offered. Email Suzanne Bish at [email protected]

20.01.2022 Fauna Solutions have just donated 5 nest boxes to a crowdfunded conservation project concentrating on the Forty-spotted Paradolte, the Orange-bellied Parrot and the Swift Parrot - all three are under threat in Tasmania due to predation by the introduced Sugar Glider. You can donate too - http://www.pozible.com/project/193891

18.01.2022 They might be cute but they aren’t real bright! This little echidna decided to go for a wander right in front of a mulcher. Luckily one of our fauna spotters was on hand to move him on and keep the job flowing. #faunaspotter #faunaspottercatcher #coalseamgas #australianpipeliner #wildlifephotography #faunamanagementservices #faunamanagement #faunasolutions #echidna #tachyglossusaculeatus #tachyglossus

16.01.2022 A great example of why thorough pre-clearing inspections are so important. Most clients assume habitat values are limited to large hollow trees, however most natural features are niche habitat for native species. This photo series shows how important exfoliating bark within Acacia thickets is - a zig-zag velvet gecko (Amalosia rhombifer) and a threatened golden-tailed gecko (Strophurus taenicauda).

16.01.2022 This feisty blue-tongue didn’t appreciate being relocated this afternoon! #herpetology #tiliqua #tiliquascincoides #faunasolutions #faunamanagementservices #faunaspottercatcher #lizardsofinstagram #skinksofinstagram #bluetongueskink #coalseamgas

11.01.2022 As part of Fauna Solutions' three-tier approach to vegetation clearing, our staff undertake an intensive search for fauna immediately before clearing commences. Often fauna turns up in habitat that most would assume would be devoid of native wildlife, like this tree stump less than 20cm across. The snake is a Pale-headed Snake, an arboreal species of venomous snake that is regularly found behind peeling bark in the Brigalow Belt.

05.01.2022 A fantastic milestone for Australian herpetology. Not only will the availability of captive-bred young reduce any potential pressure on wild populations, but a great deal of otherwise unobtainable information about their natural history can be observed in captivity. Congratulations Gavin! http://m.theaustralian.com.au//story-e6frg8y6-1227293490036

01.01.2022 What better way to break our Facebook drought than with a puggle? We found this one while excavating a top soil stockpile for rehabilitation of CSG activities. It would still be relying on mum to come past for weekly feeds, so it's off to the carers until self sufficient. So cute!
