23.01.2022 We were lucky enough to meet some of the graduates from the Possum Finishing School. These #criticallyendangered #westernringtailpossums were taken into care at... a young age and will be released in the wild next week...after learning some critical survival skills at the school! So impressed with the dedication and hard work of F.A.W.N.A Inc. volunteers and UWA researchers who are giving these special animals the best chance of survival. We wish them all good luck for the big release!!

20.01.2022 A lovely surprise today - this adult female Critically Endangered Western Ringtail Possum was rescued from a roadside over s month ago with a tiny pinky Joey in... her pouch. Today the Joey has emerged fully furred. This possum has recovered from her injuries and will soon be released back to the area she was found along with her little Joey.#critcallyendangered#possums#spring #extinction #wildlivesmatter#westernringtailpossum#joy#miricles#fauna#australian australianmammals#wildlife See more

15.01.2022 So thrilled and excited to share with you all! Our researchers, while tracking the current cohort of graduated possums, came across a possum at the site with a very full pouch and seemed familiar. A microchip check later and we have found it is indeed, one of our graduates from last year. Seeing proof of our Finishing School protocol has to be one of the most rewarding things ever! This is what it is all about.

14.01.2022 Meet the Possums - Free Event. It is the community spring Ringtail Possum Count during the month of October to record the Western Ringtail Possum that is critic...ally endangered. Do you know the differences between Brushtails and Ringtails Possums? Besides just the tail there are lots of ways to ID and describe our local possums. Join us for a free event next week on Oct 7th to look for possums and learn how to do citizen science possum surveys in your neighbourhood. We are partnering with Peel Region Western Ringtail Action Group! RSVPs are essential - https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/meet-the-possums-tickets-12 See you there! Bring a headtorch!

07.01.2022 My first Albany western ringtail possum last night...lots of scats to be found in the sheoak woodland...though this one was in a jarrah.

05.01.2022 Hello possums! The City of Cockburn has caught video evidence of possums using a rope bridge above Beeliar Drive to access Yangebup and Kogolup lakes in Beeli...ar Regional Park. The 34m long bridge was installed last year with the aim to help stop possums from being hit by cars and attacked by predators.
