23.01.2022 As writers, we can learn from this visual storytelling; what makes a great movie can also strengthen a novel or short story. Much of the technique filmmakers use can be adapted to fiction writing.

15.01.2022 There are so many websites out there that do not pay writers. They do not value writing. They see it as a commodity. This is a horrible trend that has lead to endless garbage being spewed over the far reaches of the internet. Even famous websites don’t pay their writers. The Huffington Post is a classic example. They were sold for $315 million dollars. And how much do they pay most of their writers? $0.

15.01.2022 Call for Submissions: LoveOzYA Short Stories... Short tales from the Australian writers of tomorrow. Submissions open January 15th 2018. Underdog will be the first #LoveOzYA short story anthology for unpublished Australian writers. The organisers are seeking submissions from Australian young adult fiction writers of all ages and are particularly interested in short stories that celebrate the diverse, dynamic and ever-changing nature of our young nation's culture, or that challenge the idea of what it means to be 'Australian'. The selected short stories will be assembled into an anthology titled Underdog in late 2018. For more info, Submission Guidelines and entry form, visit http://underdogshortstories.com.

08.01.2022 Given that so many of us know all about writing but are often in the dark about the agent process, we thought we’d find out more about the world from an agent’s point of view
