07.01.2022 I have been asked to share something about me and how I came to discover my ability to paint. After a shattering and life changing mental breakdown at the age of 60 , not able to work and being on a disability pension I was stuck at home for about 2 years. To fill in my days I started to draw and sketch, it wasnt until I retired at 65 that I started to search online and follow artists on youtube. I did a course in mixed media whilst living in Armadale, however it was not enjo...yable for me.When we moved to Doubleview I happened to pass Artistix Art Studio at the Mezz in Mt Hawthorn and saw they ran classes for children. I immediately thought of my youngest grand daughter who loved to draw and paint with her Nanny........what a great birthday gift it would be for her...........and so my wonderful journey began My teacher, mentor and now a very dear friend Myriam Quinn has helped me discover so much of what is within me, I have , as all artist do....my own style, however I am still enjoying many different subjects, the latest being doggie portraits.Please do take a look at Artistix Studio website to view Myriams beautiful work See more
