22.01.2022 A big thank you to Forsythes Recruitment for asking me to draw this for their Christmas cards this year.

19.01.2022 #NoApologies Art Party tomorrow night at Mumbo Jumbo's in Terrigal. A great way to see art from some local artists, including this drawing by yours truly.

17.01.2022 My modern interpretation of a #Vanitas painting; seemed appropriate for #Halloween - ballpoint pen, coloured pencil and felt tip pen.

12.01.2022 The only thing harder than drawing glass? Trying to get a decent photo of a drawing of glass!... Random still life - white charcoal on black paper.

07.01.2022 Charcoal scribble

05.01.2022 William Twine's (my great great uncle) sketchbook from 1859. So lucky to have our family tree going back to the 1700s and to discover another artist in the family is so amazing.

05.01.2022 I wasn't sure about this drawing, so I decided to use the underside with a little backlighting and it turned out to be one of my favourite pieces.

02.01.2022 This drawing requires a bit of an explanation... Once upon a time I fell asleep leaving the care of a Twix bar in the hands of a 'friend'. When I awoke, I was distraught to discover that she had consumed the Twix, along with my trust and sense of justice in the world. Following this traumatic event, I began sending empty Twix wrappers every few months in the post across the other side of the world to her (she lives in England, I live in Aus), to taunt her with the Twixs I'd been eating without her. This went on for several years. This weekend I hand delivered this drawing to her and we celebrated 20 years of friendship with wine and several Twixs. This drawing is a reminder to her, and to everyone; never underestimate my love of chocolate. #TwixLife

01.01.2022 Behind every news story, there are real people. I did this piece a couple of months ago using newspaper articles written about refugees and Australia's mandatory offshore detention policy. I folded the articles and used lighting to form shadows in the shapes of the faces of those trapped on Nauru and Manus Island. My thoughts are with them at the moment as the camps begin to close and some finally realise freedom upon their release, however, several others are being sent back... to their countries of origin and into the lines of danger. While the media and our government uses refugees and asylum seekers as political footballs, we must remember that they are real people who just want to be safe and free. I'm in the process of organising a larger exhibition featuring this piece in the coming months. I'll keep you posted on the details. #AustraliasShame #Nauru #ManusIsland
