08.01.2022 Feel Good Architecture Green #architecture has become a distraction from the crisis that turned sustainability into a trend. #ecofriendly , plants, #greenwalls, green facades, green roof; architecture has been so successfully greenwashed that anything built now strives to be labelled as at least one of these buzz words. The urgency of the #climate crisis added pressure to implement environmentally conscious #design details and has consequently sent the construction indust...ry into a craze of wanting to save the planet. However these decisions result in two consequences: One, rather than saving the planet we continue in the same trajectory, except now we have added the word green to the new developments rising in suburbs and across our skyline, based on a single environmental attribute. And two, we opportunely ignore the root of the problem and hence its solution lifestyle change- because unlike the addition of plants in, on and around our homes, this guarantees change and some levels of discomfort we are not willing to conform to.
