24.01.2022 The delivery of COVID vaccinations has been utterly mismanaged.
23.01.2022 No caring for the mental or physical welfare of those innocent people who are locked up 24/7 in a small room. It may be news to Mr Frame, but there are quite a few people locked up at Risdon Prison who are innocent. https://www.themercury.com.au//a80568cc38e1b41b6b3d6178530
20.01.2022 The Port Esperance Sailing Club are a real community hub and when their sailing club burnt down it was a real blow for the entire community. Was proud to join w...ith Amy Brumby - Labor for Franklin Toby Thorpe - Labor for Franklin and Bastian Seidel to announce that a elected Labor Government would commit $250k to a rebuild of the sailing club. 18.01.2022 Typically illogical garbage from Hetty Johnston. Unfortunately, politicians listen to her ilk. https://www.themercury.com.au//3863ab15c8f37b9c915893d5be1

16.01.2022 The basic logic behind gun control is that if there are a bunch of guns lying around, sooner or later someone will get shot. The same holds true for the security state. If you build it, it will eventually come for you. Cloaked in the banality of federal bureaucracy, we have tolerated the creation of a terrifying set of powers that now rest in the small hands of a man who has been waiting his entire life to take revenge on each and every enemy who has slighted him. The warning for Australia could not be starker. https://amp-theguardian-com.cdn.ampproject.org//trump-secu
16.01.2022 Humans have flourished in complex societies for millenia without a pervasive, violent, intelligence-collecting arm of government. https://www.theatlantic.com//how-i-became-police-/613540/

13.01.2022 This attitude of contempt for court orders with which it disagrees has been show by Tasmania Police in recent times. https://www-buzzfeed-com.cdn.ampproject.org//judge-alan-tu

11.01.2022 ...there is constant lament in the Courts about the lack of available rehabilitation programs at the Prison and the lack of access for those yet to receive sentence. Sadly, the cries of the judiciary are often heard by lawyers, defendants, and transcription typists, but seldom heard by the Government. An excellent analysis by Cameron Scott: https://tasmaniantimes.com//risdon-prison-is-no-place-for/

10.01.2022 These are the facts and they’re frightening. One in seven young people live with a mental health condition. Half of all lifelong mental health problems being... before the age of 14. We must do better to support our children. This is why a Labor Government will put trained mental health professionals in every public school.
09.01.2022 Before it is thought that this would never happen in Australia, let us just bear in mind that protestors being whisked away in black vans by unidentifiable government agents is a regular daydream for Peter Dutton and others in his party. https://www.washingtonpost.com//portland-protests-federal/
06.01.2022 And what, Madame Attorney-General and Minister for Corrections, are you doing about this? Pursuing an idiotic law & order agenda under the guise of making no apologies for keeping Tasmanians safe, whilst actually exacerbating entrenched disadvantage and thus making everyone less safe? https://www.themercury.com.au//45102fc52baa7f1f9bcf9415496

04.01.2022 The facts around mental health issues for young Australians are startling and sad. A Majority Labor Government will guarantee funding for SPEAK UP Stay ChatTY ...and Mitch McPherson to continue their fantastic work in sports clubs and schools right across the state promoting positive mental health and encouraging people to seek help. 03.01.2022 Our experiences with Tasmania’s health system are a big part of why I’m a running. The people who work in it are amazing, but it is underfunded and under-resour...ced. My son means everything to me and having him come out with me to help put signs up was great way to spend a school holiday/campaign afternoon today. See more
02.01.2022 The pendulum 30 or 40 years ago was massively against anybody who said that they had been attacked... Nowadays, we don’t want to just swing back so that every accusation is regarded as gospel truth. That would be quite unjust and inappropriate. Leaving aside whatever you might think of Pell or his institution, the argument is sound. It is also timely given the efforts by government to force amendment to trial procedure that tips the balance further in favour of accusers. https://www.themercury.com.au//9431380d52fa36c26698306b698

01.01.2022 We can only educate for so long before we start prosecuting. Tasmania Police would do well to understand that popular support for the COVID-19 measures will rapidly evaporate if they resort to their usual charge no matter the evidence and win-at-all costs approach to these cases. https://www.themercury.com.au//02e3b2f9be136931bc6c6e25529
