25.01.2022 Day 11 of the Buttsworth industrial supplies fit out. We have worked hard for the past four days to complete the major construction and get the gyprock set. I got the insulation job (which was made easier by using earth wool - Not as itchy as fibreglass bats) Dad had the mammoth task of setting then sanding the gyprock, which has come up great so far. We managed to get a head start on the trimming so we are hoping to finish up on our next trip.

25.01.2022 The FCM difference! Sharp edges and smooth surfaces. We may take a bit longer than the big boys and may cost more than your cousins brothers mate, but we pride ourselves on the finished product. The woollamia job is nearing completion. All the doorways are complete and the majority of the cupboard is in. Now to hang some doors, make some shelves and put some trim on. Luckily we are not painting this one.

24.01.2022 FREEBIE day at Fcmteam.com.au. Christmas present for Nowra Police station. With the LAC boss springing for new equipment and a room to put it in. FCM provided the man power, tools and a few odds and ends to bring it all together. We built a new mirror/whiteboard wall to take the garage look off the room which should come up nice with some paneling and paint after work this week. Once all the gear is in we can unwrap the pallet of goodies and actually do a workout.

24.01.2022 FCMs latest project. Working on Jens place at Sussex inlet. Today saw the steel wire cables removed, internal frames built to strengthen the rails, the clothes line remade and the outside sheeting completed. We are using Marino colourbond corri on the outside and slate miniorb on the inside. For a nice edge we are using 140x22 mermaid as a top cap. Good start on tomorrows work so hopefully it will all be wrapped up by the arvo.

24.01.2022 A preview of my current job. Hopefully Thursday I can have something a little prettier to show. Waiting for concrete to dry in a pool of water.

21.01.2022 No rest for the wicked! Good Fridays FCM project. The brief was to enclose the back deck, making it look like part of the house from the outside and clean and modern on the inside. After two days work I think the goal was achieved. Today saw the inside miniorb installed, gates fixed up / sheeted and the 140mm merbau capping installed. Once the bistro blinds are installed this will be a great outdoor area which will be useful all year round. For now it makes a good spot for an autumn arvo beer.

21.01.2022 Four days of hard slog. Unfortunately due to time constraints and other work commitments we have had to split the job into two hits. We managed to overcome a few issues with service access to the spa and uneven surfaces to get the frame knocked in and some of the decking down. If there is one thing we are known for, it's over engineering and this job is a testament to that. We are very pleased with how it is progressing and hopefully the customer is too. Stay tuned next week for the finished product.

20.01.2022 Updated photo of chops and Katherines place in Helensburgh. They did a great job of levelling out the yard, laying some turf and putting in a few plants. Much more usable yard now. Love the stain on the wall to match the shed

19.01.2022 Another project done and dusted. It took a bit longer than anticipated because of other commitments and had its fare share of challenger to overcome If there is one thing we get out of this business it's the opportunity to learn something new on a daily basis and this project sure did that. I am very jealous of our wonderful customers on this one as they now have a nice tranquil area to relax and look over the valley and an extra 60 square metres of living space. From the feedback so far it is all smiles and we have already measured up the top deck for stage 2 early next year

19.01.2022 A small project I have been working on for a mate in my spare time. This old oven was almost too far gone with rust eating away much of the structure. Its not showroom condition but hopefully it will be good enough to produce some decent smoked meat.

19.01.2022 It took some time and a bit of pain but the fence is finally finished. With core holes into the bedrock the posts wont be coming out in a hurry. I pity the person that buys this block of land. All rock and no water run off.

18.01.2022 The finished product at Matt and Chelseas place. What an awesome spa. Hows the serenity????

17.01.2022 Well thats a wrap! 15 long days, 1.8tonne of gyprock, umpteen l/m of wood and a million screws and we were able to turn an unused space into three offices, a spacious hallway and a service area. Im not going to say it was all smooth sailing (a few tanties along the way) but from concept through design to the finished product we had this exact picture in our minds all along. We are very happy with how it all turned out and hope the customers feel the same. Paint tomorrow, glass at the end of the week and carpet to finish off next week. Pic to come when its all done.

16.01.2022 Another trip to Helensburgh for FCMteam.com.au today. Finished off the retaining wall for Katherine and chops. Really please with the finish product. Its going to look great with when the grass and plants are in.

15.01.2022 Over the past two days FCM North and South have worked together in perfect harmony to complete stage 1 of the Backway wall. With a full metal support structure, we are confident this wall will be around for a very long time. Stage 2 will be completed Friday, with more metal supports and a two sleeper mini wall transitioning the slope down the hill.

15.01.2022 Today I contracted out to phil from creative Signworx to do a spot of sign writing. We wrapped black roof light strips in a different shade of black (to the liking of the architect, I think his name was sabastian) You can tell by the 26th storey Barangaroo view that the customer likes perfection.

15.01.2022 Post night shift delirium. Back on the 39 mercury with one of the headlights fitted. Lots of cuts, lots of welds, lots of noisy grinding. Still needs some beating to get it smooth but Im happy with the look.

15.01.2022 Two days of hard slog for Fcmteam.com.au at Buttsworth industrial supplies in south windsor. The task was to divide the downstairs office with a stud wall, including an access door and window. Upstairs we knocked. Out a wall so that the officer could be opened up. We also fixed up the bathroom area with a new shaving cabinet, re-hung tiles and some surgery on two large cracks which had seperate the rear wall.

14.01.2022 With a late start on day 1 Fcmteam.com.au managed to knock out mat and Chelseas new deck in 3 days neat. Usually we walk away from a job an throw around ideas of how make things better and faster but this time we can honestly say that we wouldnt change a thing. With some new tools and processes we were able to make a base that will comfortably hold the 3 tonne spa ( being installed next week) and have utilise 140mm decking boards to give a resort feel. For the roof we recessed the sheets into the merbau frame to give the whole area a clean look. Hopefully the customers are as happy with the finished product as we are and we get a bit more work up there. The hospitality was great and the after work drinks on the water were amazing.

13.01.2022 FCM spent the weekend in Helensburgh revisiting one of our most loyal customers houses. We built this deck six years ago for the Backways using 90mm treated pine decking. Now that most of the house has been revamped they invited us back to lay some 140mm merbau down. After six years in the weather the structure was still as strong as the day it was laid which made the upgrade easy. The difference in materials speak for the self control think.

11.01.2022 Custom air chamber for the reverse edelbrock Pro Flo LS1 intake on the 39 mercury project. It will be mounted under the dash on the firewall to redirect the air being rammed down shotgun scoop into the throttle body. Hopefully all these custom parts come together to make something special.

11.01.2022 Fcms second stint at Buttsworth industrial supplies in south Windsor. We only had three days this time but we made some good gains. We managed to knock out all of the frame work except for the area we need to get supplies in and out. The insulating and sheeting is well underway. Hopefully next trip we can get all of the framework finished and the first set on the finished gyprock.

10.01.2022 Unfortunately due to the RMS and their great postage processes FCM has to blue slip and re-register the work trailer. So unplanned maintenance and an overhaul it is! Side box cut out ready for a new full side door and shelves. Stay tuned....

10.01.2022 FCM's newest undertaking. We have ventured to Heathcote to build a deck around a newly installed swim spa. Day one has seen us measure up, problem solve, purchase materials, dig the holes and install most of the support stirrups. Oh and the first injury went to Nilocc Notnebb with a head clash with a clamp. Good effort from dad, working on his birthday. Trooper

10.01.2022 Day 2 of cris and Freds makeover at woollamia. Doors stripped, re batoned and sheeted with metal angles. Storage cupboard now 1500 wide. If only our suppliers would come through with doors! Its taking a bit longer than I thought but its progressing well and the customers are happy. Back at it tomorrow. Hopefully all the big stuff will be finished by the end of the day.

10.01.2022 Day 1 of the Buttsworth industrial supplies fit out in Windsor. Hard slog but we smashed it.1.6tonne of gyprock brought in and loaded on to our modified scissor lift, unloaded and stacked, 400l/m of wood moved in, roof prepped and batoned out. The guys did a great job on the steel work to make everything strong enough to take the extra weight and changes. Big day tomorrow whilst the Buttsworth crew are playing paintball. Lots of wood work whilst we can make noise.

10.01.2022 Quick little fitout this morning at one of our lovely repeat customers houses in Vincentia. The window coverings were supplied so it was just measure and fit. Easy to instal and a good product If you look through the window you can see the raised garden bed we made a couple of years ago.

09.01.2022 Today saw a wrap on our most recent job in Heathcote. We did a deck around the swim spa last year and were invite back to replace the old, mismatched deck for the main party area. It only took four days to knock in the deck, 2 screens and the stairs. (Long days) We fabricated some gal wire strung gates to lock off the spa area which were installed today. From all accounts the customer is very pleased with the outcome. We are really happy with the results considering what the yard looked like a year ago.

09.01.2022 Four days of hot hard slog but the FCMTeam has got a great start on the Buttsworth industrial supplies fit out. We managed to get most of the main walls up and one side sheeted ready for the electrician to come in whilst we are away. The place is really starting to take shape and we are happy with how things are progressing. Cant wait to get the insulation in the roof as its like working in an oven at the moment.

09.01.2022 We may have to adopt this pay scale. Could be a big money maker.

09.01.2022 Today I made a racking system for Craigs kayaks. The brief was that fit two kayaks side by side that could be loaded by one person. Racks had to be removable and easy the store. I think they work pretty well. Definitely wont be falling off. Have to love pool noodles!

08.01.2022 A busy couple of weeks for FCM.com.au. Revisited Chris and Freds Place to finish off the small items ready for paint. They seem really happy with the results.

06.01.2022 Another couple of photos because I took them.

05.01.2022 Flashback. 2 years since we completed Linda's pool deck in Engadine. Still one of my favourite jobs.

05.01.2022 Final days of the Buttsworth industrial supplies job. Its about this point I wish I became and electrician. We did make some great gains tonight. Unfortunately we will have to come back up for one last trip to finish off a couple of things.

04.01.2022 Day 1 of the Backway wall. Long day but luckily it was planned well. Everything ordered early and on the tools. Happy with the progress and ready to wake the neighbours tomorrow.

04.01.2022 A before and during of the storeroom fitout for Buttsworth industrial supplies. On paper it seems like a quick rip out and refit but gutting, roofing and sheeting this 3 x 5.4m room is like a complete main bedroom makeover. We lose sight of the scope of some of these jobs but quickly remember when the hammers start to fly.
