07.01.2022 My name is Karen Thai, and recently I celebrated 20 years with Fairfield City Open Libraries. I was 22 years old when I started, and it was my first ever paid job. My colleagues are extremely supportive, and have helped me build up my confidence. Working in the library makes me feel like I am making a difference in people’s life, and that is very... satisfying for me. In the past 20 years, the community has grown to accept me as a valuable and knowledgeable staff member. To my colleagues who have become my friends over the years, thank you for your friendships and everything you have taught me these last 20 years. : Karen has overcome more obstacles than most. She has cerebral palsy, but is prove that disability is no barrier. She was featured in the Fairfield Champion in 2002, after receiving the prestigious TAFE Equity - Special Achievement Award.
