25.01.2022 While the pic below is a bit funny I also want to highlight that any moving in any way shape or form is beneficial and good for you! This idea that exercise has to take an hour or more and must leave you drenched in sweat or near passing out is old and outdated. More than that its not helpful! Move a little more today than you did yesterday. Move a little more this morning than you did yesterday morning. Move a little more in the morning and the afternoon in the same da...y. Every day look for opportunities to move - no special clothes, equipment or coach required!

24.01.2022 Todays 5 minutes with Flick is a special presentation for RU OK Day. For me, today - Im ok thanks for asking! But its been different every day and Im not always one to share the details. Usually if Im talking about it, Ive found a way to be ok with it. There is a lot going on for us, The Munro family at the moment. Dad is still in hospital in Melbourne and depending on how he is traveling can impact on whether we are ok or not. We are trying to get him out of Melb but ...as you can understand its not as straightforward as it used to be. Dad will require ongoing rehab and treatment for some time. This changes what our business will look like in the future. Government restrictions will change what our business looks like in the future. And right now, I dont have the answers I need to make a plan. So, today Im ok. But its been a tough 4-5 weeks and being ok today does not mean Ill be ok tomorrow. I have great supports around me, so Ill get through this with a plan and well get to the other side.

Seriously though its 5 minutes of movement at the start so feel free to stop it at the 5 min mark. You will however miss out on some really good information on your brain. Totally up to you (but your brain will know you dont love it any more so maybe watch a little bit ). AND yes Im puffing - its exercise - Im supposed to be puffing

17.01.2022 Here I am on a Sunday trying to make sense of all the wafflecock (its a word Im sure) coming out about the restrictions and its absolutely hurting my brain! 17.01.2022 Unfortunately we find ourselves in the familiar territory of Stage 3 restrictions. This means that the gym will be in forced closure from Thursday, 6th August for a minimum of 6 weeks. During the first round of restrictions back in April, we were able to maintain some contact through social media (Facebook), phone contacts and email. This time round we will have the added advantage of an online app so you can access exercises and classes from your phone, ipad or computer.... The details for the app will be provided to you as soon as the link is finalised. The following is direct from the DHHS Corona Advice page: From 11:59pm on Wednesday 5 August, Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions apply in Victoria, except if you live in metropolitan Melbourne where Stage 4 restrictions apply. The definition of metropolitan Melbourne is based on the Planning and Environment Act 1987 which sets out the local government areas that form metropolitan Melbourne. If you live in regional Victoria, including Mitchell Shire, there are only four reasons that you can leave home: to shop for food and essential goods or services, to provide care, for compassionate reasons or to seek medical treatment, to exercise or for outdoor recreation with your household, or one other person, for work or study, if you cant do it from home, You may no longer have visitors to your home or visit other people in their homes. It's important this second time round to monitor your health and wellbeing. This closure is temporary and will pass in the blink of an eye. We need to keep in touch and keep each other safe. 17.01.2022 COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS UPDATE By now you may have heard that Melbourne will be on Stage 4 restrictions and REGIONAL VICTORIA will be back into STAGE 3 restrictions as of midnight Wednesday. Unfortunately this means the gym will be closed from Thursday this week. Due to these restrictions we will not be starting classes this week as anticipated. ... 14.01.2022 UPDATE: As more councils/shires are put back into lockdown we too need to raise our awareness levels about who weve been into contact with (and who theyve had contact with!)! If you have had contact with friends and/or family members either directly or indirectly (friend of a friend type thing) then please Do Not come into the gym. Weve been advised that you may need to self isolate for the 14 day period as was previously required. We can still offer PT sessions via zoo...m or messenger if required. 10.01.2022 We have a relaunch date for our evening classes - Monday, 3rd August! I know it is a few weeks away but it means youll get to come back and try out the new flooring that is going in at the end of July - yay! This will also give more time to put together a boxing program that complies with social distancing rules. And finally due to the spike in Victorian cases, there is a chance we will back on restrictions again. Hopefully by the end of the month things would be on the d...ecline again. So in the mean time - what classes would you like to see at Future Directions Fitness? Let me know what you like and lets see if we can get it sorted! It could be Step - Yoga - Tai chi - Tummys Hips Thighs - Fitball - Boxing - Rip/Power - High Intensity Circuits (like F45) - Weight/technique class.... 08.01.2022 Last week I heard an interview with an Aussie living in Italy. She was asked about face masks. Her response was pretty straight forward - dont understand what the issue is, everyone around the world wears them! There are exceptions for face masks particularly around exercise. Once we have clarification around these exceptions we will let you know. Most likely you will be able to remove your mask once inside the facility as we have physical distancing restrictions in place. We will keep you posted and please, wear a mask
