17.01.2022 Some of you might be wondering why the restock email didn’t get sent out last week as planned? Here’s why. On Thursday night, I sat down on the couch with a cuppa to prepare for the long-anticipated restock. It wasn’t long later when we heard some unusual gurgling noises but we thought it was the dog and ignored it. As the noise continued, I turned around to check on the dog and realized he was asleep and quickly ran to our little Sylvie’s room. In one glance, I knew somethi...ng was seriously wrong and yelled to my husband and eldest daughter to call an ambulance. Sylvie was pale & her lips were blue. She was not responsive and didn’t seem to be breathing. She had a lot of saliva coming from her mouth and down her chin. Straight away I began to pray and cry out to God. I threw her over my lap and began to wack her back, hoping to dislodge anything that might be blocking her airway. This did nothing. I kept trying and then turned her around trying to look into her mouth but her jaw was locked and we couldn’t see in, her body was limp in my arms and her face was lifeless. It was terrifying. I didn’t know what to do in order to help her breathe. Panic had set in, my mind was racing with fear, regret for the moments when she had asked me to play dolls with her or go on a bike ride together and I was ‘too busy’. I wished I had laid down longer with her at bedtime. It was in this moment, I thought we were going to lose her. She wasn’t breathing. Our terrifying experience last Thursday night with little Sylvie certainly changed up our week a little but we are so incredibly thankful that she is ok and beyond grateful for all the love, messages, prayers & kind words from you all. This restock was by far the biggest I have ever done and I really hoped to have enough stock for the next few months but it seems I just cannot keep up with you all! It seems there were a lot of you who were also struggling to find something like this hence why they were snapped up in a heart beat when they were released and we struggle to keep supply up as they are so loved and wanted! 08.01.2022 Fun fact: my nickname is ‘Stacka’. An old mate of mine Greg (husband of my beautiful friend Hannah from @mayclay_ceramics ) coined the nickname for me back in the 90’s. I hated it, but it stuck and now I’ve accepted it. It’s of course derived from my name Stacey but it’s terribly fitting as I have always been quite accident proned and ‘stack it’ a little too frequently. My husband says if there’s a way anyone could possibly injure themselves, I’m the one who’ll find it . Tell me I’m not the only one, are you a clutz like me? So anyway, I wanted to caption this photo ‘stack by stacka’ but without the back story, it would have meant nothing. So there you go, a long-winded random story about my nickname . 02.01.2022 Tonight while cooking dinner, my two girls sit at the bar stools quietly doing their own thing. My head is buried deep in the fridge, digging around for different things for dinner when my eldest daughter (Olive, 13) starts playing some music loudly. Unsure as to whether or not the girls are watching me, I start twerking in time to the music whilst I continue my veggie search in the fridge. I’m really getting into my moves when I get my answer. Clearly their eyes must be on m...e as my youngest babe, (Sylvie, 7) squeals with laughter. I turn to them and continue my dancing and notice a sparkle of admiration in Sylvie’s eyes as she giggles happily at my amazing (really bad) dancing. Meanwhile, Olive just looks at me with the most revolted look on her face. Completely unimpressed and clearly repulsed by how uncool I am. One day she’ll learn that’s it’s her exact reaction which gives me every bit of encouragement I need to continue these lovely memorable moments . I also do this at the supermarket. You should see the look on her face . Apologies, that story had absolutely nothing to do with this photo of our ramie bags . Oh well! Sometimes this happens. Please tell me, are you also an embarrassing mama like me?
