25.01.2022 Wait for it.... We absolutely love watching natural behaviour.
24.01.2022 VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY Whilst we have been climbing out of covid, we are working towards building our team again in light of the promising updates from NSW Health. We have filled our TAFE intake and are looking for a keen and passionate individual (or two!) to join our volunteer program here at the Sanctuary.... If you are interested in bird life and are looking for that foot in the door to gaining valuable industry related experience, then please email through your inquiry to [email protected] Jessie and our queen of the skies, don’t they look great together!
23.01.2022 A whole body shimmy from Curlie to end the weekend celebrations! Watch until the end for a cute tail wiggle #shakeyourtailfeather
23.01.2022 Those Friday Feelings, who else is ready to fly this weekend?!
23.01.2022 Giselle’s caramel facial ruff between her eyes, is usually not visible, but a part of her facial disk. Aiding in pinpointing her prey, these feather structures are extremely sensitive to her senses. Just look at that face! Can you think of a better way to spend your afternoons??
23.01.2022 We are well into breeding season, and like Gypsy here our lovely ladies have been collecting treasures to build their nests. Treasures like this stick, which we can all agree is a VERY nice stick.
22.01.2022 Finnegan with the big feets! Sooty owls have quite large talons compared to our other aussie Tyto species, more heavy and powerfully built. Little Finn here is all feet still!
19.01.2022 Oden gaining some confidence in the wind! Almost like when he had two eyes Just at the end he realised that he couldn’t see us so he landed... soon he will learn to turn his head when flying
19.01.2022 Anyone fancy some adorable head wobbles on their Monday??? This little sooty owlet has its last baby down feathers to molt and oh my, Spring is the best Season and to watch these babies grow is the most special thing!

18.01.2022 Our Hawkers vary from bird lovers, to bird curious, to those who are not sure of them at all! The most enjoyable part of the Experience, is watching our guests take a leap, or step, toward learning more about our birdlife. ... it’s also enjoyable to capture moments like these too
18.01.2022 Hey all, Doris here! Did you know Tuesday’s are actually worse than Monday’s? We usually dread when Monday nears, however the productivity and motivation to get through the week often disappears before Tuesday begins! Well, my adorable self would like to offer you all a top tip this Tuesday Look out the window or look around you. Find something that makes you smile. Hopefully it’s a sulphur crested cockatoo causing mischief nearby or maybe it is simply something of the natural world that brings you perspective
18.01.2022 Flying into your Saturday, looking as determined as Oden here Jeffrey Brew
17.01.2022 When you continue filming after a blooper, and capture a cute lean in by Oden for more head scratches. Look closer and you can almost hear him say ah yes that’s the spot

14.01.2022 The most beautiful thing about age are those silver slithers of wisdom that appear. This girl teaches us everyday! Can you see her little grey hair?! More like a glistening porcelain feather!
14.01.2022 Owl cuddles are the best kind of cuddles. Anyone care to disagree?
13.01.2022 Boobooks are nifty hunters, catching insects mid air and pouncing on ground dwelling prey. Poor mealworm didn’t see Boo coming, and neither would you if slow mo wasn’t rolling!
13.01.2022 Wait... what day is it today? It’s FRIYAY! Fawkes here, with a public announcement: I am the best hawk. And I’m here to kickstart your school holidays by reminding you all how great, and handsome, I am. ... Happy Friday!!
12.01.2022 Finnegan reminding his neighbours how big and scary he is! Adorable right?! This boy is the youngest raptor in our Hawkers Program, however he’s going to have to face the fact that he won’t be the only young bubba for long! Just look at those feathers!!!
11.01.2022 ... What mouse? Giselle says Large prey is typically torn into smaller bits, and raptors will mantle over their meal. A bunch of snack sized mice however? Are just TOO GOOD to savour... and are easily swallowed whole! Blink twice and they’re gone
11.01.2022 Cooper carving past the camera, and doesn’t he look candid! How do we tell he is a male? Red-tailed Black Cockatoos display sexual dimorphism, males will have a striking red panel across the tail and a midnight glossy plumage. Females are characterised by their starry complexion and striped red panel with yellow and black! Jeffrey Brew
11.01.2022 3... 2... 1... BRUCE!
09.01.2022 It wouldn’t be Wednesday without a cracking shot of a wedgie, right?! We are all getting excited for these warmer days and clear skies! Who else is glad that Winter is over? Jeffrey Brew

08.01.2022 Happy Monday everybody! We are lucky to have our offices immersed amongst the birds here at the Sanctuary, so we can look up from our screens and appreciate the natural world

07.01.2022 Patience, Determination, Skill, Love and Respect are the fundamentals of a flock member here at Feathered Friends. So beautiful to watch this flock share their trust. Comment, like and Tag someone that would enjoy this special moment.
06.01.2022 Sunday’s are for sleep ins? Not here at the Sanctuary! Our favourite place to spend our mornings would have to be in the nursery. These kids keep you alert!
06.01.2022 And just like that we flew through another week of Hawking! What a precious moment flying a Hawk at the Sanctuaries purpose designed Birds of Prey Reserve.
06.01.2022 When you’re as cute as Clancy, social distancing is an afterthought
04.01.2022 When it comes to raptors, the intuitive nature Alex has and the knowledge that comes with it, is difficult not to see everyday at the Sanctuary! These fur babies are growing into quite the curious pair, and after their training session cannot help but jump on Alex and demand his affection . Kids, amiright?! Can you spot furbaby number 2??
04.01.2022 It’s a great day to walk with a Brolga
