21.01.2022 Our thoughts are with Australia's favourite, Steve Lee, who suffered a stroke on the weekend in his home at Falls Creek. The 3 time Winter Olympian and FIS W...C gold medalist, was flown to Melbourne and is currently in hospital with a long, challenging recovery ahead. If you know Steve, either as a champion or as a backcountry guide in Falls Creek or Hakuba, as a friend or as an athlete, then you know the man is a golden trouper filled with spirit. We have no doubt he'll be charming the hospital staff as we speak. There's also no doubt that he has the Australian and global snow community behind him. Our healing support is with his wonderful daughter Layla, mum Noelene, sisters Kerry and Tracy and their families alongside the Falls Creek community who are also hurting. Heal and recover well, Mr Lee. 15.01.2022 The Falls Creek MTB park is opening early! Traditionally, it would have opened in late November. With the disappointment of having to cancel ‘Ignition’, the tra...il crew worked overtime to prepare the trails early (aided by a low snow season). Thanks to this all runs will be open on October 30th. Please note, Blue Dirt Mountain Biking shuttles and other resort-based bike hire facilities will be unavailable until mid-November. So regional Victorians; border residents, bring your own ride, and hit the trails! We look forward to welcoming the rest of you soon! #fallsfreedom

12.01.2022 Remember, FALLS CREEK and HOTHAM resorts will still be open for regional Victoria, just with no chairs turning. The message from Falls Creek Resort Management ...tonight is that they are STILL OPEN to the public for sightseeing, xc skiing, backcountry touring, lodging and supporting their food and beverage operators. Expect Hotham is the same but will confirm. Dinner Plain is also still open for tobogganing. We'll report more on this tomorrow. LOCAL OPERATORS AND BUSINESSES WILL NEED OUR SUPPORT.
