23.01.2022 Whilst not everyone's cup of tea, Boxing memorabilia has always been a popular collectible. This small collection is from back in the day when the competitors didn't bank millions win or lose. It is related to the 1953 World Bantam Championship held at the Sydney Sports Ground between Australian boxer Jimmy Carruthers and Pappy Gault from the USA. The boxing glove opens up and is a promotional souvenir ticket with details of the bout.

20.01.2022 An Aussie icon for Australia Day - a national treasure we found yesterday - a 1955 saleroom example of a Hills Hoist rotary clothes line. Unlike the childs model which is 62cm high with fittings for 5 wires this one is 120cm high with 4 wires. Its dimensions are: Height Retracted - 120cm Height Extended - 148cm... Diameter across arms - 122cm Marked to winder - Hills Hoist - CSA 10/55 It comes with metal peg basket and round base. Whilst probably not unique, no other examples have been identified in our research.

09.01.2022 This is why we get up at 5.30 every Sunday - found at our local Trash n Treasure market for 0.50c, a 2nd-3rd Century AD Egyptian figure of a seated woman with upraised hands made during the period of Roman rule..

08.01.2022 We love old photos - the quality was generally very good and the detail is fascinating. We recently picked up a lot of photos from the British Commonwealth Occupation Forces in Japan c1948. A favourite is a photo of a Fire Engine Motorcycle complete with hoses, hoze nozzle, a bell on the back and a spotlight.

03.01.2022 Postcards - the moblie phones of the early 1900s. We see a lot of postcards and its very clear that nothing has changed over the last 110 years - they were often sent several times a week or even daily between young friends. We were a little surprised with the message on this one from 1906 though - "Hope you don't look like this when your pashing..." - and you though that "pashing" was a phrase from the 1980s.
