08.01.2022 Well Easter is here and Federal Films would normally be having our monthly tonight but it looks like we will all be watching a film at home. Here are 10 films on Netflix that you much want to watch over the next few days. Missing seeing everyone, take care, stay home. The FFS Crew... Hop This sweet live-action/animated film (starring Russell Brand as the voice of E.B., the son of the retiring Easter Bunny) is full of springtime shenanigans that critics say both parents and kids will enjoy. God Bless the Broken Road Fair warning: This one is a tearjerker. Based loosely on the Rascal Flatts song "Bless the Broken Road," this 2018 drama follows a woman who loses her husband and the father of their daughter in the war in Afghanistan and must grapple with what it means to believe in God in the aftermath. The Gospel of John The first in a series of four, this film from director David Batty is a word-for-word visual adaptation of the Bible's Gospel of John. You can catch its counterparts The Gospel of Matthew, The Gospel of Mark, and The Gospel of Luke on Netflix, as well. The Case for Christ Here's one that will make you sit back and think. In this 2017 movie, an atheist investigative reporter sets out to debunk his wife's newfound Christian beliefs. What he ends up finding, however, surprises him. Joseph: King of Dreams Your kids already know and love the story of Joseph and his "coat of many colors." Queue up this animated (and musical!) movie after the Easter egg hunt, and they'll be thoroughly entertained for another 74 minutes. Come Sunday This 2018 Netflix original follows the true story of minister Carlton Pearson, who was excommunicated from his church for his belief in universal reconciliation. Even more reason to watch: It's got a star-studded cast (think: Chiwetel Ejiofor, Jason Segel, Donald Glover, and Martin Sheen) and was an official selection at Sundance. Faith, Hope, & Love Switch things up with a faith-based rom-com this year: In this 2018 flick, Peta Murgatroyd (yes, the pro dancer Peta Murgatroyd, who you've previously seen on Dancing With the Stars) feels lost in love and her relationship with God before she enters a dance contest, meets a new man named Jimmy, and rediscovers her faith. An Interview With God If you're looking to feel all the feels this Easter Sunday, try queuing up An Interview With God. This emotional drama follows jaded war reporter Paul Asher as he sits down for an interview with a man who claims to be God. Monty Python's Life of Brian This classic (albeit controversial) comedy was finally added to Netflix in 2018, which means it's readily available for your Easter Sunday entertainment. Although it's less faith-based and more satirical, it'll have your whole family laughing 'til all the chocolate eggs are gone

06.01.2022 Federal Films Saturday 13th NASHVILLE We are back to where we started this was the first film the FFS ever showed in February 2002. "Altman's great kaleidoscopic ensemble comedy-drama about a frenzied few days in country music's capital, with an unlikely, quirky, explosive crowd of musicians, hangers-on and politicos all converging on a fateful concert crossroad." This month's caterers are the Federal Community Centre/Park group who will be doing a Nashville style menu - ...Southern Fried Chicken or Veggie Patties: served with Coleslaw, Herbed Potato Salad and Southern inspired condiments. As always there will be a delicious selection of Cakes/Desserts, Tea & Coffee No pre-booking, Doors open at 6.30pm for dinner; film starts at 7.30pm. Short and long-term memberships are available at the door. For more info p: 6684 9313 e: [email protected] See more
