19.01.2022 New research has found womens emotional investment in Instagram has led to anxiety about their body images three months later. Led by Dr Danielle Wagstaff, Lecturer in Psychology, the study exploring the relationship between social media use and mental health, also found people who were more invested in Instagram felt their bodies had more defects, while people who felt their bodies had more defects became more emotionally invested in Instagram. The latest findings don...t suggest we should stop using social media, rather that we be cautious about how much of our sense of self-worth we invest in the platform and that we should avoid comparing ourselves to others on the platform. The study, currently being prepared for publication, builds on previous research http://ow.ly/AHJx50BpEZT

14.01.2022 COVID-19 has forced governments to make tough decisions, balancing the needs of our economy against the need to protect vulnerable people from the virus.
