24.01.2022 Hidden veggie pasta..... Don't mind if I do!

24.01.2022 I may have gotten myself onto the Bellini Bandwagon! This is their electronic pressure cooker. It has a timer, delayed function, cooks rice, soup, casserole, meat, beans, chicken and more at the press of a button AND apparently makes my slow cooked recipes taste just as good after 30 minutes instead of 8 hours! So in go some marinated lamb ribs for dinner...... Stay tuned for results and taste testing!

23.01.2022 As a follow on to last nights post advising you all of my excitement at finding a whole bunch of presents online through Woolworths for upcoming birthdays...... my joy has been short lived! I just received an email; at the same time I am due to collect my order, to advise me that all but one of the items is out of stock! I am pretty unimpressed with Woolworths who had sent me an email only hours before encouraging me to place an online order; only to have 80% not supplied! I apparently can still collect my ballpoint pens, glue sticks and 1 toy!

23.01.2022 I have been very quiet of late (sorry!) as life has been frantic and also have had a few curve balls thrown in for added chaos! However I hope to post more regularly from here on in! I shall post a little secret for restaurant quality meals at a fraction of the cost (and home made!) shortly...... Stay tuned!

22.01.2022 After spending fours hours of my life on hold to various government departments today (four hours I will never get back I might add!) I was pleased to find that when I ducked into Woolworths for loo paper I found these dinner bargains.

19.01.2022 Crispy skin Atlantic salmon with maple glazed sweet potato on a bed of spinach and beetroot leaves, garnished with fresh parmesan & coriander. Salmon $1.30 for 4 pieces (90% off) Coriander $0.50 bunch (75% off) Sweet Potato $0.20 ($0.99 kg)... Leaf salad $0.50 (marked down from $3) Crispy skin was Asian fried shallots, sesame seeds, salt & pepper (all standard pantry items here) See more

17.01.2022 Found my $0.50 foodie bargain at Coles this afternoon so designed our dinner around it! Pulled pork with kale, carrot and wombok coleslaw! The pulled pork we made a couple of months ago and bagged it up in 500g batches for the freezer...... Delish!

17.01.2022 Thank you Target for my 80% off! I now have 8 new deep dish bowls for pasta, cereal or anything else - worth $50, and I paid $10. Yay me!

17.01.2022 Find out what time your local big name supermarket marks down their fresh produce, meat and seafood ..... And then stalk them for these bargains!

13.01.2022 After 14 weeks of hand watering during heat wave and drought conditions here in Central West NSW ..... we started with a packet of mixed seeds and now have oodles of tri-coloured fresh corn!

13.01.2022 Tonight I make my first risotto in the Bellini SuperCook. I am a massive risotto maker however I am one of the rare people (so I'm told!) who can make risotto in a pan, on the stove, walk away and not burn it or stuff it up! Stay tuned for the results and the all important kid verdict as to which risotto is better - mums or the machines!

13.01.2022 Nothing like popping into your local Lions Club op shop and they have freshly picked veggies from their community garden for all visitors! I was given 3 large Cousa Squash (like a zucchini but fatter and paler in colour) plus two jars of homemade chutney and a jar of marmalade! Cost = smiles, giggles and a good old chat with the volunteers behind the counter.

13.01.2022 I had to give this a go; for research purposes only of course! It's been doing the rounds online so I thought it was only fair to test it out http://youtu.be/yGXMEBaYsS4 * sheet of puff pastry... * block of your fave chocolate (I used Cadbury Caramello) Egg wash Decorate with any nuts or similar (I used almond slivers) See more

11.01.2022 Tonight I was browsing the Woolworths online store (after an email prompting me to check it out mind you!) and although not food related, they did have some brilliant post Christmas toy & game bargains on offer. I have two kids birthdays coming up in the next 6-8 weeks so managed to snaffle $200 worth of cars, remote control monster trucks, play doh & learning activity games for $51.40! Stoked!

11.01.2022 Nothing like a bucket load of fresh fruit! Happy 6 year old! 3.5 litre container full of rockmelon & watermelon and this kid will plough through most of it in the next half an hour! Rockmelon $1 each and watermelon $0.88kg. Delish!

09.01.2022 Another day, another supermarket, same brilliant dinner bargains! And this was during the middle of the day too! What's even better than 8 lamb cutlets reduced from $13.63 to $5.08? The checkout chick who cannot get one of the price reduction labels to scan, so gives us one for free! Yep 8 tasty Australian lamb cutlets for $2.49! I've taught my partner well as this is his claim to fame today!

08.01.2022 Awesome to find this Nutella equivalent today! Organic cold pressed coconut oil and organic cocoa are the basis and at $3.99 a jar it is on par with the nasties filled one on price. My six year old could actually live on chocolate spread so he will be excited to see this tonight! Dairy free, gluten free, additive and preservative free, no cane sugar and no GM ingredients! Woohoo!

07.01.2022 I'm super excited that this simple recipe for pure homemade butter appeared in my newsfeed today! I have a Bellini SuperCook rather than the Thermomix however they work pretty much the same way. My kids are additive free kids so I'm looking forward to whipping this up soon! http://www.quirkycooking.com.au//making-butter-in-the-the/

07.01.2022 DYMO Label Maker LT-100 = $49.99 Clear Label Cartridge 12m X 4 = $60 Iron on Labels 12m X 2 = $30 Total Price = $139.99... Price I just paid at Woolworths due to some mad clearance at 5.30pm on a Saturday late arvo/early evening: DYMO Label Maker LT-100 = $12.50 Clear Label Cartridge 12m X 4 = $15 Iron on Labels 12m X 2 = $7.50 Total Paid = $35.00 Needless to say I'm pretty pleased with myself!

04.01.2022 $2.20 for 600g of green prawns and $0.90 for 1kg black mussels! Bargains galore at Woolworths ....... Delish!

04.01.2022 Bellini Pressure Cooker 10/10 Garlic and Rosemary Lamb Ribs in less than 30 minutes! Served with mash, broccolini and a basic gravy with the liquid from pressure cooker! The meat fell off the the little rib bones! Only very small negative for me is that there is a little oily residue but that is probably because I used some of the liquid from the cooker in the gravy!
