21.01.2022 *****WE NEED HELP***** This is not a pretty picture, things are looking desperate. The sheep walking the paddocks kicking up the dust, no grass left. This is Ta...mworth aka The Country Music Capital". 79.6mm of rain is all we have managed all year, so far in May we have received zero. The last time Tamworth saw zero was way back in 1934. My thoughts are with the farmers, how do they keep going & yes some are giving up. Very little assistants from the governments apart from loans, come on the farmers are doing it tough enough without getting more in debt. Now there is another problem hay & grain has run out in the region, pastoral companies are now getting hay & grain from kilometres away costing thousands. One B-Double truck of hay from SA is costin 12k, putting extra cost on farmers, we can't afford to lose this industry. The government continues to turn a blind eye. This is the worst drought in over 50yrs. See more
