24.01.2022 Every two years, Reconciliation Australia undertakes national research study, the Australian Reconciliation Barometer, and we’ve just released the 2020 Barometer. It is the only survey in Australia which measures the progress of reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians. Reconciliation is built on relationships and it is important to see that support for this key relationship remains high even in these testing times w...e have seen this year. The strength of the fundamental building block of reconciliation, that over 90% of Australians place high importance on the relationship between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians is encouraging as we continue to walk towards reconciliation. 22.01.2022 From March 2021, the Mount Gillen climb in Alice Springs will be closed MORE: https://ab.co/2JEzRqQ The decision was made at the request of Traditional Custodians and concerns for public safety on the unmaintained trail, the Department of Environment, Parks and Water Security says.... The climb is a major sacred site and the stories are known only to senior Mparntwe custodians. From today, access will be restricted and from 1 March 2021 fines will apply for anyone who climbs.

Jahmole was last seen at Hope Valley about 1.30pm on Wednesday 2 December, an...d police have concerns for his welfare. Jahmole is Aboriginal, 145cm tall, 35kg with a slim build, short brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a burgundy Nike top, and grey track pants but may have changed into a grey t-shirt and black track pants. Anyone who sees Jahmole O’Loughlin-Wilson or has any information on his whereabouts is urged to contact the police assistance line on 131 444.

05.01.2022 Meet Khuba, Clinton, and Denika, 3 members of the Perth Deaf/HoH (Hard of Hearing) community! As dancers and performers, they’ve had a lot of experience with h...earing people asking how they can do these things. They’ve been able to forge a path for other Deaf/HoH Indigenous dancers to have a platform to also engage with their culture and peers. Tomorrow is International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) and held every year on December 3rd. IDPwD is a United Nations observed day celebrated internationally. It aims to increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability and celebrate their achievements and contributions.
