10.01.2022 Ah family storms. Painful yet also moments where true beauty and rawness can appear. Tonight we had the eye of a huge storm after our kids played beautifully. The pressure in the atmosphere has built and was waiting for the perfect moment to release. Cue and accident during play and boom the switch was flipped.... As parents we too can find ourselves in the storm and struggle to be the calm. And with that too brings beauty. But as I always tell my clients, it's how we clear the sky after that counts most. These storms often reset the energy and make clear to us what needs to go. What needs to be changed or released. What is no longer working in a dynamic. It also provides the perfect moment of teaching. 01.01.2022 Connection. We all need it to not only survive but also thrive. Yet it can become our deepest battle. I know for me as a mum of 3 young kids I found it hard for years to really tap into my playful, sensual self. There was so much resistance. And the trouble is "what we resist, persists" (I cant remember who's quote that is).... Tonight I felt it again. I have come so far this year with tearing down walls and tapping into my sensuality yet tonight I felt the familiar pull to close off. So instead of reverting back to old habits I decided to take this resistance out for a play. I told my husband how I felt and how hard it was that I had been feeling so sexual and connected this year but now felt closed. I told him I didn't know what I need but he knew. He knew how to take me to the edge and break it down. So he massaged me. I could feel the resistance in my upper back and chest. All of a sudden this huge surge of anger and rage showed up. Like he had hit an acupressure spot and the valve released the pressure. I breathed. He knew it wasn't him. He knew this was mine to shift. And so I did. He gave me space to clear it by allowing me to tell him where I needed touch and how. And I am so grateful for it. So often we expect our partner to know what to do yet they need our guidance. Men are driven to take care of and nurture their partners but they can't read our minds. Heck half the time we cant read ours either! It's moments like tonight that I lay in bed in utter gratitude for the man next to me and the years of layers I have worked on to get us to this moment. If only it was as easy as skimming the surface.
