21.01.2022 Building underground gravity retaining walls using our Microfine Grout Soil Injection Techniques
21.01.2022 Restricted access piling rig installation automatically promotes the use of screw piles as the most cost effective and time efficient piling solution available Once more FEG have demonstrated this through the successful design and installation of 985kN/460kN (ultimate) compression/tension screwpiles at Wesley College redevelopment works. Screwpile Australia was again selected to provide a cost effective piling solution. Based on the geotechnical information installation tor...ques were estimated to range up to 200,000Nm so access for a 35t excavator was needed. Screwpile Australia is the only screw piling company in Western Australia that owns a QA calibrated 200,000Nm pendulum rotary powerhead and Torquatron monitor. Site entry height & width restrictions made machine access challenging for Screwpile Australia's Operations Manager Andrew Gordon and installation needed to occur next to existing walls and services at new foundation locations. Locations were full of existing underground service so care and location accuracy for the screw piles was critical. The experienced and committed screw piling installation team of Matt and Andy made sure installation was in accordance with Screwpile Australia's ISO-9001 QA project management procedures. Foundation Engineerings senior design engineer, Ali Bataghva, provided a design solution that addressed the induced pile moment forces due to existing wall and services locations. The overall design was cost effective and on budget for the builder. Winding the clock back to 2008, Screwpile Australia installed a number of 400kN compression screw piles in challenging locations at Wesley over existing walls as these images shows. Foundation Engineering Group management extends their appreciation to the builder's Cooktown and RD Constructions for the close working relationship in ensuring a successful outcome for all parties concerned. We look forward to the opportunity in working with you again in the near future. The FEG team.
20.01.2022 The FEG team at the Manual handling course .
19.01.2022 Always plenty of white paint on our project screwpiles to comply with our QA policy. 10% of the 100 screwpiles were Magnetic NDT tested with 100% passing. This super urgent project, due to poor compaction & high water table after excavation, was engineered & installed in under 2 weeks to the delight of the builder, who we have a long relationship with & we're were happy to go that extra mile for... Great job Andrew Gordon & team.
18.01.2022 Construction site in the way...Solution hire a 90 tonne crane and get the job done.
17.01.2022 Another huge effort Andrew. Well done mate. Despite the terrible weather conditions and challenging FRL depths your PM talents & self determination to get the job done & all to spec is another testament to your steely grit.
16.01.2022 Talented excavation of a FONDEX microfine grout soil injection project
16.01.2022 It's been a long time coming to Western Australia but finally ball sporting bodies and grounds owner/managers have picked up the ball on spectator and passerby safety. The first, of what undoubtedly will be numerous, installation of "Ball Sport Safety Net Structures consisting of 4 x 12m poles with the catch net spanning 30 metres went off without a hitch for the Foundation Engineering Group. Foundation Engineerings engineer Ali Bataghva designed both a concrete bored pile ...and a mono-screwpile option to cater for variable ground conditions and the fast installation of foundations and pole erection. The time frame for the first project was extremely tight so anything that saved time and money was introduced into the design and installation. The original pole design and connection interface to a mass concrete footing that was designed by another engineering firm was completely revised to a more cost effective solution. One that allowed for "a same" universal pole and connecting interface design regardless of which foundation option was required in accordance with site and ground specific conditions. This enabled the mass production of poles for future projects thereby reducing manufacturing costs. Ali considered the concrete bored pile the most appropriate for the first site being the sports field in Mandurah That selection proved to be a wise one as rock boulders were encountered at one auguring location. Sporting fields are inherently located on reclaimed land, or rehabilitated rubbish tips, so the likelihood of ground variability is high. Foundation Engineering carries out a geotechnical assessment of site's prior to nominating the piled foundation type. Final outcome? Articulate planning delivered an on time and under budget outcome for both us and our client so we can't ask for more than that. Well done to our crew, Dave, Wayne, Andrew, Matt and Andy and the rest of the team who combined, manufactured the poles and foundations, constructed the caged and pier'd concrete bored piles and erected the 12m poles at lightening speed. You made the client very happy. Now get ready for the others.

15.01.2022 The current crazy "State" of play in WA must change before somebody is killed or seriously injured, let alone the serious damage it is causing to innocent parties property & assets!
14.01.2022 FONDEX - WA's Pioneering Specialists in Microfine Grout Soil Injection for over 25 years. The engineering and design principals were developed by us. WEST AUSTRALIA - "The only State in Australia where you can conduct microfine grout soil injection design work and or installation and you don't have to be licensed experienced or qualified." There is an increasing trend of life & property threatening untested microfine grout soil injection installations happening in Western Au...stralia. According to direct sources four significant collapse failures have occurred in the past three years. This is affecting the reputation of the use of Microfine Grouts as a safe alternative over other methods for soil stabilisation and retention. We believe its only a matter of time before a fatality or serious injury occurs unless the industry becomes accountable & licensed... West Australian structural engineers and reputable builders need to be more vigilant than ever and ask lots of questions when comparing proposed design solutions for their projects. There is no Australian Standard for Microfine Grout Soil Injection. So there is no substitute for the use of proven microfine product, correct engineering design and installation methods that comply with the designs intent. And finally, engineering certification provided by a suitably qualified & experienced CpEng signing the works off as safe and correct, in other words "Fit for Purpose" must be considered mandatory.
13.01.2022 BIG NEWS....The Wombat is coming !!!!!!!!

03.01.2022 We redesigned the proposed safety bollard design for Rio's Cape Lambert Iron Ore Conveyor Loader. Instead of posts cast into concrete footings, we installed thousands of our Screwpile bollards in a fraction of the original scheduled time frame. The speed of installation impressed the main contractor Laing O'Rourke they increased the scope of works.
03.01.2022 A very happy builder contacted us and said "come and see how good your grout is". We did and here is the video. A safe excavation can now be completed with zero damage to the property next door and safe for the workers on the construction side.
