24.01.2022 Visitors this morning on the tree next to the house, they let me know that they were there. I have to say they werent particularly welcome, Im hoping they dont find all our pine nuts trees. We had a visit from a pair of black cockatoos, they were very beautiful but incredibly noisy. They left us the pine nuts as they were not quite ripe yet. 23.01.2022 We have an indoor area, which is tropical, so even though we get frost and very cold outside, we grow bananas and vanilla and orchids etc. We have quite a few hanging baskets and we have some wonderful wildlife that live here too. One of my favourites are the frogs, this one is pretending to be a trapeze artist on our chain of hearts. I just had to share them with you. 22.01.2022 Do you know what I love about this time of year? No it’s not that the days are getting longer; no it’s not that the sun is shining and the days are beautiful; it’s not all the spring flowers. It’s all the gorgeous fruit! One of my favourites is the mulberry. Our tree is laden with mouthwatering, tasty delectable, delightful mulberries. My grandmother gave me this tree many years ago, and every year is covered with these amazing luxurious fruit. If you’ve never tried this yumm...y fruit, it is definitely something to put on the bucket list. Sharon, from Bonnie View Produce, will be at the farmers market, she has made the most amazing mulberry syrup, from our mulberries. Perfect on those hot summer days with ice and soda water, or cascading over ice cream for that decadent dessert. Maybe as a cocktail, oh what colours. She sadly has passed on, but I still have some of her plants Ive been looking after. This happy plant has flowered several times, and which is incredibly sweet smelling. 11.01.2022 Wonderful Christine from Crave Natural, gave me some of her beautiful sunflowers. So what else would you do with the petals from these gorgeous yellow flowers, but make them into Christines Golden Gardens Soap. I sprinkled some of our calendula petals into this creation. Our petals a chemical free, and Christine is whizbang with bio dynamic gardening. These are not quite ready yet but Im so pleased with the colour and the look, that I had to share with you. 09.01.2022 On our walk around the paddock today, Peggy Sue and I saw this family on the dam. Mum, dad and 7 ducklings. Peggy was not in the least interested. Seems as tho...ugh they think its spring! Even the magpies that come down and have breakfast with the chooks each morning are on their 3rd brood. The other little flower was just one in the paddock, live the colour and delicacy of them.
