22.01.2022 Andrea Scott visited the wonderful Jen-the-Hen today at The Feisty Hen Pantry Cafe. It was wonderfully cosy and warm on a fresh Autumn day - and Jen had a full house! Andrea will have to go back another day (or book ahead) to sample Jen's fine cooking. Shelves looked pretty, too, and were well-stocked with produce from the kitchen of Jillaroo Jams. Yum, yum!

We have PORK, BEEF AND LAMB on offer today with heaps of vegies such as potatoes, sweet and sour red cabbage, dutch carrots, parsnip and leek puree, broccoli with cheese sauce. $15 takeaway or $18 eat in. 12.01.2022 Melbourne Cup Luncheon is shaping up to be THE event to attend in Oatlands this year! It will now be held in the Gay Street Community Hall (see previous post), so more room for you and your friends to mingle and enjoy the festive atmosphere. If you are unable to read the notice, it says there will be prizes for Best Hat, Best Turned Out Filly and even Best Turned Out Colt! There will be properly organised sweeps aplenty, great TV coverage, wonderful food and bubbly. Not one thing has been overlooked. Going to be a great day. Please message us if you would like to book. $25 per head.

09.01.2022 Have you been to The Feisty Hen yet? Open every day except Thursdays, from 10 am till 6 pm. Looking just beautiful, with tables inside and out. The food is delightful, with pork pies, quiches, triple-smoked ham, lovely gourmet toasted sandwiches and specialty cheeses. Off-street parking makes it a good venue to meet up with friends and family. You can sit at a table beside the kitchen garden, or next to the potted olive trees.

08.01.2022 Hullo there! We can say for sure that we will be opening the week before Christmas! There have been a few minor setbacks, as there often are, but you can rest assured that The Feisty Hen's brood has been working hard behind the scenes. So please, please, hold out with your Christmas food shopping till then, as it would be great to have your support as we get started. There will be gourmet food hampers available, as well as top quality cheeses, cold meats and other delicatesse...n goodies. By all accounts, the shop itself will look a treat, with its Dickensian shop front, and lovely decor inside. Personally, I can't wait to see the coffee machine in action. More info closer to the time.
