23.01.2022 Hi everyone... we hope everyone is keeping safe and is well...we are thinking of you all right now. Here is a lovely idea some of you may have seen already to help capture all those ideas ...it might be something you want to start in your home.

21.01.2022 Happy Mother’s Day We hope today is as special as you all are!

21.01.2022 Two weeks ago we enjoyed a wonderful sports day on the oval. The students were so excited to have their families to finally be able to join us again on site. Despite everyone’s best efforts, the red team came out on top! A big thanks to Kamal, our P.E. and health teacher, for organising this fun and enjoyable event.

20.01.2022 Free parenting webinar available!

19.01.2022 Term 3’s whole school inquiry topic is ‘Communities impact local environments.’ Today the Juniors walked down to the River Torrens near Felixstow Reserve. Students discussed the ways that communities have impacted their local environments both positively and negatively. The students decided to make a positive impact by picking up litter along the way. Great job little ones

19.01.2022 2020, or the year of COVID-19, continues to twist and turn and be challenging! Each day, over the next few days, I’d like to connect and offer a few sensible ti...ps on how PARENTS and KIDS can look after their mental health during this 6 to 14 days hard lockdown. This post starts with you - the parent. Please think about putting your oxygen mask on first, before assisting others. Yes, it sounds counter-intuitive, but to be the best influencer for you kids, partner, friends and extended family, you need to consciously keep yourself in a good place. This is, "self-care". To do this - set a visible routine for the day so you and the kids have a structure to increase certainty and reduce anxiety. Plan times to do chores, play on screens (yes, more time than usual between devices and TV), exercise, rest (meditate or listen to music) and play together. Schedule in time to be together AND to be alone giving each other space is necessary, if you can manage it. When things go awry, and they will, try to 'go with the flow' rather than fighting it too hard. Keep talking and texting with likeminded friends. We’re all in this together, so it’s a big advantage to have a continuing dialogue with those who care and get you! Be kind and go easy on yourself!

18.01.2022 Felixstow Community School’s capacity management plan has been approved by the minister. This means that we will now have a zone. This will not affect current enrolments but changes to the process of future enrolments have been listed on our website (linked below) as well as registration of interest forms. Please have a look and contact the school with any queries you may have. https://www.felixcs.sa.edu.au/index/for-parents/enrollment/

17.01.2022 Felixstow staff would like to wish all of our students and their families a happy and safe Easter break. We hope that you find ways to keep busy but also find time to rest and enjoy the little things. We look forward to connecting with you all in term 2!

17.01.2022 Earlier this year, one of our year two students planned and held a lemonade stand to raise money for the RSPCA with the help of his class teacher Lauren. Last week he was able to share his project with RSPCA staff members and hand over the donations. Safe to say we are all feeling very proud!

16.01.2022 On Friday, we celebrated book week with some curious creatures and wild minds! Our students and staff enjoyed a parade outside and listened to some of the amazing storybooks in our library. What a wonderful way to celebrate language and stories.

16.01.2022 Backpacks 4 SA Kids INC. is a wonderful organisation who have a goal of supplying gifts to 5,500 kids entering emergency care this Christmas. They need some help. See their post below for ways you can contribute, by either donating cash, online purchase or delivering a gift to one of their drop off locations. (Or you can send in to school and we will make sure gifts are delivered) Some kids have never experienced the joy of receiving a present just for them. A simple gift will show them someone cares and bring some happiness to kids and families who are displaced at Christmas.

15.01.2022 R U OK? This Thursday 10th September is R U OK? day. The message this year is there's more to say after R U OK?

13.01.2022 Our tree is in the Parade Christmas Tree display 'Festival Gallery on Osmond' again this year! Let's see if we can win a second year in row! Make sure you vote by going to the original post on the Parade Norwood Facebook page and 'like' our tree... get sharing and let our little school be mighty again! This year students were inspired by our work with Uncle Tamaru. One side is the Karawirra Pari or the River Torrens, one side is Victoria Square or Tarntanyangga and the other two sides have all the students in the school handprints. Well done to all the students and staff who got involved again this year
