We recognise that this is not just America’s problem and we stand in solidarity with our community fighting for racial equality in our own backyard and throughout the world. Now is not the time to be silent. We take responsibility for past silences during times of racial discrimination and we are here to do better. We can all do better. We can speak up, donate, read, listen, share... information and march. We commit to doing better and using our platform to share information & resources to fight for racial equality, whilst we internally form a long term strategy to support the black communities in Australia. To our friends of colour reading this: We see you. We hear you. We hurt for you, we have so much love for you and we are with you. You’re not alone. All of this is happening during National Reconciliation Week here in Australia, a time to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and the ongoing contributions they make to Australian society. The theme for this National Reconciliation Week 2020 is In This Together, which now resonates more than ever, but reminds us whether in crisis or in reconciliation we are in this together.
