22.01.2022 I was visiting my friend Engineer Andrew Graf, owner of Krankie Cargo Bikes and found this beautiful trike parked at his backyard. This trike was converted to electric with a Bafang 250W middrive kit and a 36V 17Ah Lekkie battery. What a nice vehicle for those who want to stay fit and carry theirs kids at the same time!... 15.01.2022 When not replacing the brake pads in time, this is what happens: The overused brake pads melted with the piston of the hydraulic brake calliper which also caused damages to the disc brake and seals of the brake calliper. A new set of brake pads, disc brake, calliper and mineral oil were needed to repair the brake system.... It's always cheaper and safer to do preventive maintenance than corrective repairs. Any squeals coming from brakes, gears and motor are a good indication of something going wrong. 10.01.2022 The ultimate guide to locking your bike! Never, never, never lock your bike through the front or back wheel only. The wheels can easily be removed or cut. In the picture, the wheel stayed, but the bike was gone! Also, avoid cable locks; they are easy prey for a thief. Always use a U-Lock or a Riveted Folding Lock. Do not facilitate the thief's action!... The only way to keep your bike safe is to lock it to a metal pole through the bike frame/chassis. 07.01.2022 I will explain how to extend the steerer tube of a bicycle fork. 1. The extension we will add on top of the fork steerer has to have the same internal and external diameter of the fork steerer tube. 2. Create a sleeve of about 120mm length and with outside diameter equals the inside diameter of the fork steerer tube and the extension.... 3. Make a 45 degrees chamfer at the bottom of the extension tube and the tip of the steerer tube. That chamfer is to accommodate the welding and strengthen the bond between the steerer tube, extender and sleeve. 4. The sleeve should enter with some interference between the steerer and the extension tube. 5. Once the extension tube is bonded to the steer tube by the sleeve; it's time to weld both pieces together. #custom #ebikes #felpsebikes
