Severe abdominal separation and abdominal hernia following birth is not just a cosmetic issue and unfortunately some women do require surgical repair.... Medicare ceased funding for these women in 2016.

Engaging the pelvic floor efficiently is really important preparation for birth, but also for postpartum, however it’s something I hear of so many women not quite getting the technique; from clenching your bottom to bearing down instead so I highly recommend checking in with a female health Physio prior to bir...th. This is only 1 part of the picture as you need to equally be able to RELAX and switch off the pelvic floor for birthing as being engaged all the time can lead to a lengthened bearing down stage. This is just the beginning of my session with Erin from @femalefocusphysiotherapy where we lead into a short, but purposeful PRE and POSTNATAL workout around engaging your deep core muscles and pelvic floor. If you are a woman in any stage of life then this workshop is for you. It will go over the really important information you need to know about your pelvic floor and you will learn some pilates exercises to help you work your pelvic floor and core to ensure you have optimal health down there for years to come. In an ideal world, we ...would host this somewhere fun and provide hands on cuing and glasses of Prosecco but thanks to #rona we will maintain our distance and ask you to bring along whatever you want to drink to your lounge/bedroom/whatever room you choose to tune in from.
