25.01.2022 Good blender, stick blender, whatever..you can make hummus! 3 mins, that is all it took me.and probably cost me $1.50!!! I make it in my thermomix now, but before I had one, I just used a regular stick blender. ... 1 can chickpeas, roughly drained (some of the liquid is good to help blend it up) 2 cloves of garlic (less if that is too much for you) 1 tbsp lemon juice 3 tbsp olive oil 2 tbsp tahini tsp salt tsp cumin Crush/blend your garlic first to make sure it is small, then add all the other ingredients and blitz until desired consistency. Most of the time, I like it super smooth, but a coarser texture is yummy sometimes too. This is going to go on a Greek Lamb Platter for dinner tomorrow night with haloumi, feta, slow cooked lamb, roasted potatoes and baby spinach...prob few other things too. Lamb recipe stolen from friend’s husband's signature dish. Happy weekend people

25.01.2022 I have one kid who wakes up hungry and has to get our of bed because she NEEDS to eat (like her Daddy) and one kid who is happy to mooch around and do stuff and get to food later in the day (like her Mummy). She would quite happily not eat until 10am. I don't like to send her off to school without eating, so it is a constant juggle to find things she'll say yes to. See below........today's was a smoothie.......I am so chuffed with myself.......it has sweet potato in it! W...e had left over vegies in the fridge so I threw them in: You are looking at 1/4 cup of oats 400ml almond milk 100ml coconut milk kefir 2 massive chunks of roasted sweet potato 1tsp chia seeds 1tsp cacao 1tsp maple syrup 1 banana It fed both of us. 24.01.2022 All is good in my world again. We were apart for 6 days. We managed but we were not happy. There was a space on my bench and in my heart. I reached for you many times only to remember with a crash that you were away. Together again. She’s been serviced. She’s got new blades. 16.01.2022 Super simple red cabbage salad. It ends up a little pickly. If you can let it sit for a couple of hours before serving, it will begin to somewhat ferment and get softer. Happy Saturday xx

13.01.2022 Let's chat about make-up Over in our Wellness in 12 Weeks group we are talking all this low tox this week, from cleaning to what we put in our bodies to what we put on our face and it got me thinking about make up. This area is where we can really make some changes to our health. If we start to use different brands of make-up that are really doing a better thing by not only us but the animals and the environment then there are no losers here (except maybe the toxic brands).... Let's have a look and see what we are looking for to avoid in make-up. Talc: asbestos has been present - Lead: most likely in red lipstick Cadmium: a carcinogen found in lipsticks Musks: used as fragrances and linked to hormone disruption Toluene: made from petrol and found in most synthetic fragrance Parrafin, mineral oil and Petroleum: why would you want to put petrol anywhere near you unless you were filling the car. These are found in most lip balms and lipsticks. BHA/BHT: These guys are preservatives and are linked with hormone disruption These all sound super fun but let's get them out of our lives and away from our skin. Which brands do you use?. 09.01.2022 Made up some little chia pudding go for breakfasts or snacks. Will top with yoghurt and berries. These ones are decaf coffee and cacao: 1/2 cup chia seeds 1 cup decaf coffee 1 cup almond milk ... 2tsp of vanilla extract 3tbs of maple syrup Shared between 4 small jars. Put in fridge overnight and too with yoghurt and berries and some fav seeds. See more

09.01.2022 Was talking with a fermenting friend of mine who’d just moved back to Australia recently and she said she needed cultures. Cleary, I can hook her up right.....it’s me, culture lady. She wanted milk kefir culture. I said hang on, you’re dairy free, what’s going on? She told me she needed them for coconut milk kefir.............you can’t put milk kefir grains in coconut milk and get away with that for very long! I replied. Now ladies and gentlemen, I was under the impress...ion that you always have to have lactose to feed the culture. And that, yes, you can use coconut milk, but at some stage you’ll always have to feed them cows milk, which defeats the purpose if you’re dairy free. She informed me that it’s the fat that the culture feeds off and that once you transition the grains over, you’re sweet!! Thoughts, feedback, experience, suggestions please. Xx See more

And I did make my family call me Mr Wonka before I let them have a piece! 100gm cocoa butter 15gm raw cacao 2tbs maple syrup Raw almonds... Sprinkle of salt. Melt cocoa butter Mix through cacao and maple syrup. Pour on to baking paper tray. Sprinkle in nut and salt. Fridge to set. See more
